Has anyone shot the milkyway with this lens? If, so what were the setting that you used?

Don't want to highjack this thread, but am interested in this particular lens, and would hope that responders to the milky way question might also leave a brief comment on this lens in general. Thanks

This question is likely to be answered better in the Astronomical Photography Section.
I suggest you repost it there.

I own and use one, no star photos but nice walk around lens on a T4i, light unobtrusive, use it almost as much as my 40mm pancake, if I don't want to carry a heavy zoom lens either the 28 or the 40 go on the camera and the other in a pocket, very satisfied with it, Bob.

I have one on my SL1 and usually have it with me just in case. Nice little lens. I usually use a wider (10-16mm) lens for night sky pics but see no reason this would not do well there. Remember it is a eps lens which makes it 38mm on crop sensor cameras. As to settings here is a link you might want to look at.

Thanks to everyone for your quick replies. I was ready to test it out last night, but some clouds moved in so I will have to try another night. Thanks again, Hoggers are the best!
