I use a Nikon D500. I wanted a 2nd camera and decided to try a Sony and thought the a6000 was a good deal. I have played with it. I shoot manual and it's pretty easy to make setting adjustments. I do like to bring it to job sites to take pictures of our video integration studio project (before/after).

The Sony a6000 is a nice little camera. My daughter used it at an African Safari to South Africa and took this shot. I'm sure she was in automatic setting...

Might be easier to mail your cards to him and let him download the images. If so, back them up before you send them.

That is a good idea. He is in Manchester England and me Orlando Florida but still....

Why do you want to upload RAW files? Are you going to process them? Once processed they are always stored in some other format. Just wondering.

A guy who was on the Safari with the group I went with wants them so he can process and create an album for the group. I'm converting them to jpeg for him to use...

Hi I have been using SmugMug for some time but have only uploaded jpeg files. I took a lot of pictures on a vacation to S. Africa and have a bunch of RAW files which SmugMug does not support. I was wondering which (if any) cloud service you use for uploading RAW and have the option to share the pics with others like you can in SmugMug. Thanks,

In my opinion, everything I've used in Lightroom works well!

Just a third opinion.

I do not understand why people are so opposed to the PS/LR model. its 9.95 a month. You get updates on a regular basis and to buy them as a stand alone is well over 900 bucks. and then you would have to pay for the updates every year. I you run into $$ problems you can cancel and the programs will continue to work you just would not have the updates. For my money these two programs are the best in the business for post processing our work.

Some folks smoke at the cost of close to 9 bucks a pack, other drink beer at the cost of around 10 buck a six pack. Heck just filling the gas tank on my truck cost me 30 to 40 bucks a week.

I don't dare talk about the cost of our equipment...

Gee, what is all the complaining about[/quote]

You can pay one annual fee a year for light room Photoshop CC if you prefer and pay $119.98.

My Nikon 5200 has a flip out screen, great for shooting flowers, bugs, anything you have to get low, the screen helps. Then there is the other use.
I sit along a sidewalk, flip out the screen, snap pix as you walk by and you never know I'm taking your pic as the camera may be pointed at you but Im NOT looking into the view finder. works great. ( wife hates it)

My D500 and Sony A6000 have tilt monitors. Good for low and high angle.

I downloaded the free Trial version a couple of days ago. Haven’t had much of a chance to test it out but I did run about 10 or 12 photos through it. A couple showed a striking improvement over the original. The others maybe less so to the eye. At the bottom right of the screen are two boxes that show the pixel cluster before and after. On some photos you can definitely see how Projects sharpened the pixels. For 20 bucks I’ll probably buy it.

Seems worth it to me. Has plugins for LR and PS.

I had both versions (old/new) of the 80~400 and sold both of them; could never really "warm up" to either one..... I guess it was a love-hate relationship. Performance, especially at the long end was always inconsistent to say the least. I ended up getting the Nikon 200-500 and IMHO, is a better performer all around. The 200-500 is a "sleeper" of a lens and at it's price point is a bargain.

B&H will pretty much trade me straight up for my 80-400mm for a refurb 200-500mm. Thinking about it...

I just answered this but apparently my pressing of SEND did not go through. Let me try again.

The lens is sold and I thought I had put that out to UHH members. Apparently I am getting older sooner than I thought.

I will be replacing it with a 1946 (I think) L. C. Smith shotgun in the original box.

I have varied interests.

Dennis

Thank you
