I agree your photograph is much better than OK, however there are several distractions that caught my eye. You could consider eliminating them with post processing, but keep in mind these are only suggestions.
The little tree could be remover, and simply replaced the support posts. Next, the particle board sheets under the deck could be covered over with some green grass or brush. Finally, overall saturation could be dialed back a bit. Some times the photograph you get just needs a little help. For me, post processing is half the fun of digital photography.
I love photographs that capture my imagination. Your image effectively captures a moody powerful ocean view with rough textured rocks contrasted soft surf. The off shore clouds gives your exposure dramatic depth. I would not change anything.
You have a great eye for detail. I agree the sunburst would have been better if the rays were sharper.
Somewhat reluctantly, I have to agree with you and my wife. I had several exposures with only a hint of a sun burst and some taken at an angle without a sun burst. I liked all of them, but I felt the sun burst was a bit more dramatic. Oh well, it is what it is.
I appreciate your kind comments. My ultimate critic (my wife) completely agrees with you. She urged me to enter a slightly different exposure that didnt include the sun burst. She felt the sun burst was a little distracting.
Great photo form a CdA old timer. My wife showed your eagle in the Press yesterday. It is one of the best eagle pictures Ive seen. I hope to see your work at the Fair. Youve given me the inspiration to take some eagle pics.
