Put one of these devices together last year from your description and found my breathing interfered - took a while to learn how to benefit somewhat from the rig. (I don't have "six-pack" abs.)
Been wondering about extending the monopod and place the support socket much lower. Guess I need to start experimenting since the spring birding season is here. It is certainly a good idea, just need to refine mine.
From my experience as a certified Hospice Caregiver I would have to say that the vast majority of men who I've been with until death the most important thing they do FOR THEMSELVES is to tell me what they have done over a lifetime. They gain solace by doing that knowing someone has all that info and therefore it is a living remembrance of their lives.
In case anyone doesn't know about being eligible for Hospice's palliative care, it means a person has six months or less to live.
My $65 Vibroplex Lightening Bug. It's amazing that when looking at it sitting in its place of honor in the bookcase the fond memories it brings up. And when taking it down to hold, my fingers start trying to twist the imaginary knobs on the equipment it was associated with so long ago.
This topic has been a wonderful cathartic experience for so many off us that were sworn to secrecy for so many years by the Navy. Only after reading the book titled "Blind Man's Bluff" recently have I started telling a very little bit of what my training was and what I was involved in during my time in the military. That book very accurately describes the workings of the sub spy program as it was many years ago (60 for me).
It is a good street photo, it makes us wonder and enjoy the composition. For my two cents I'm going to suggest the figure is female because of the decorated cloth slippers. Also like the diagonal lines in the sidewalk. Thank you!
...We have a lunch once a month with two other naval officers...
I'm envious!
A Nuclear Power School was in close proximity to my Defense Language Institute school and when the Thresher incident occurred ('63) there was quite a bit of gloom over the whole area.
Nice post subject, brought back many memories. Was closely associated with the submarine force as a Spook during the Cold War. The anxiety level was high especially when the Thresher imploded during sea trials and the Scorpion exploded because of a faulty torpedo.
