When I see those container ships loaded as they are, I wonder haw stable they are in heavy seas. Over 200,000 tons is incredible. I'm not sure of the exact number but the u boats of WW2 only sunk 300,000 tons in one month at their best, can you imagine sinking one of these monsters.

Drill some holes into the sand by the hull then pump compressed air through them to help to release the hull from the sand. I believe this was the method used to refloat USS Missouri when she ran aground in the 50s.
