OBTW I see there are new User and Reference Manuals for the IIs. And some settings guides. Poring through it all.
Thanks for the inputs! I’m checking out the links.
I have the manual for the Z6/7. I’ll make sure I have the manual for the ii and look for differences. Other than the cards not aware of any.
Have a Z7ii coming to replace my Z6. It will be a week or two yet as just sent the Z6 off to MPB. Interested in thoughts about setting up the Z7 that might differ from Z6.
Of course first is the card settings. I plan to use SD card as primary because both my computers have slots for SD cards. I have xqd and CFb for the other slot which will be backup.
Set image quality to RAW compressed on SD card and jpeg backup on other card.
I don’t like back-button focus so advocates beware I am not interested in that advice.
I generally set up U1 for wildlife and U2 for landscape. Wildlife use M mode w auto ISO. Landscape A mode and f16.
Open to advice for F1, F2, and lens focus ring. I like having focus peaking on and using the lens ring for manual focus when needed but open to other ideas. Forget what I had F1 and F2 on so fully open there.
Advice on other settings also appreciated. I’ll be googling advice also.
PS: meantime getting by with Z50. Do like to keep settings the same where possible.
And you might move the bird off center.
While their answer isn’t strictly correct (Nikon doesn’t make anything in the US) it is good enough to keep with my records.
OK, back one last time (despite troll).
I now have it in writing that it is USA origin.
Just took a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
Order placed.
Thanks to those who sought to help.

I don't know what else you expected? MPB is a very good source of used gear.
I expect a firm statement from them so if problems arrive in the future they must honor their claim. Irresponsible to not clarify what they are selling.
Won’t be buying used from them.
I’ll buy from more reputable sources; e.g. Adorama, B&H, or Nikon. The first two also require clarification on grey market items. Sometimes not up front.
Amused by the people that seem to be happy with a Yugo when they want a Cadillac…or that the buyer should have to check important features with another source.
Done with this thread. Thanks to those with helpful suggestions.

I purchased an older model body from them and after a few months I noticed that one of the dials was almost impossible to turn. I sent it to them for repair. It took two weeks, but they determined that it was not repairable, and they replaced it. I had my choice of replacement bodies, and the one I got was in newer shape then the original one. So the OP does not have to concern himself with the issue, as long as the piece of equipment passes his needs within their 6 month time period, he is protected.

You do not understand Nikon’s policy on grey market. They will not repair a grey market item. Ever.
Failure unlikely for years so warranty not the issue for me.
I ignore stupid comments,

The 10-24 DX 3.5-4.5 G rocks my boat. Its a fully coupled OEM zoom. Theres a new cheaper version but I havent tried that cuz Im happy with the original. If you go for the original your only likely complaint might be its size. Everything else about it is top shelf.
10-24 covers all imaginable wide angle needs in one lens, so its size is readily forgivable cuz it replaces three other lenses. Weight isnt bad. I use it on a Sony that is smaller than your Nikon.
I also use unusual fully manual lenses. Excellent results but unsure about you using them on a D3400.

I have and sometimes use the 10-24 and agree it is great. But if shopping for DX I’d get the AFP 10-20.
Interested in a camera from them. Previously had good experience with them on lenses.
This time, on a Nikon camera, not so much. I asked them if the camera they were offering was a US or grey market, and they refused to answer. Gave me the S/N and said call Nikon. Right.
Others experience this with them?
(Hoping I got the staff nitwit).
