Ditto… i also use the Darkroom.com but will often scan the negatives myself on an Epson V550, although I do get scans from them as well. When i get my darkroom set up again (new house without dedicated space is taking more time to get set up), i’ll develop my B&W film at home.

What lens should I get
I have the Tamron 15-30 and a Sigma 150-600 and they are both great at what they do. I do not recommend trying to make them do what they are not intended for. The f.2.8 on the 15-30 gives a flexibility for flowers that the 150-600 simply cannot match. I agree... determine what is most important for you and buy accordingly, saving for the next purchase.

Both will be great assets to your kit ... i absolutely love the 15-30... be aware that filters are terribly expensive for it though as you will need to move to a square system given the construction of the lens.

Financial Advice
I’d amend #1 to “use credit cards wisely and pay them off”. I have an airline credit card on which i put every purchase i can... pay it off monthly. I earn miles for every $ spent. Between that and flying for work (when i could), i’ve not bought a plane ticket for a vacation in years. Event flew to Scotland a few years ago for free for three of us.

Nikon vs Tamron Wide Angle
I have the Tamron 15-30 f/2.8 and love it. I have used it with my Nikon D610 and gotten excellent results.

Anyone own a Nikon F5 with 300XXXX serial?
Mine is a 306XXXX serial number, so fairly early model. it is still going strong but required a replacement of the front multi-function wheel last year. It's a little rough around the edges but it adds to the character of the camera :)
