Spent some time in the Green Mountains during the last week of August. It was a lot hotter on the ground than at 2600 feet. Did something I've never done before and hope never to repeat. I left the camera bodies, camera bag, a shirt (no big deal) and the day planner (that had to be mailed). Retrieved the camera yesterday and downloaded. Lots to do.
I was astounded by the amount of goldenrod up in VT. Am grateful that I've never been bothered by allergies.
Wish I were still able to run distance. Perfect place to put in serious mileage.

A very rickety dock in a small lake. Walking on the dock is rather like walking on a wave.

Sunset. By the next day the cloud cover was 100%. Rain didn't hit until a few hours after getting back to Boston.

Beautiful series! My son's high school cross-country team used to train in the summer near Burlington.

Thanks. VT is a gorgeous state. These are from around Manchester near the NY border. I lived in White River Junction on the border with NH for four years.
These are beautiful landscapes.

A really nice set.
Thanks. Just started using the 7-14 lens for landscapes that are as expansive as the Green Mountains. Will be going back up in October.

Goldenrod (Solidago) has a bad rap. It is not generally the cause of allergic reactions. It gets that rap because it blooms at the same time as other plants (Ragweed) that DO cause the allergic reactions. Goldenrod is a showy plant that people notice. Ragweed not so much.
Goldenrod is pollinated by insects so it does not spread its pollen around much. Ragweed is wind pollinated so that's the allergen.
Beautiful landscapes--enjoyed.
