Your portable hard drive should have its own drive designator -- D:, E: etc... You can download to this drive from your camera's SD card to the portable drive the same way you download to your computer. If you are running Windows on a PC, you can either drag and drop or use the Copy and Paste functions. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the kind remarks. To my horror, I discovered a surprising number of dirty spots on these photos, and changing lenses didn't help. My friendly local camera shop has since cleaned my sensor, and I'm ready for next week's eclipse!

Driving from San Antonio to suburban Nashville a couple of days prior. We booked a hotel about 60 miles south of the center line. Sensor cleaning done, filter has arrived and everything is slowly coming together. (Wonder what I'll forget?)

They're not that fast, so bracket and chimp, adjust and repeat as necessary. Good luck -- post your results!!!

Great photo! I'm afraid if it had been me, I would have spent an hour or so with the DSLR and then packed it up in favor of my metal detector!
