Given how good the Iphone camera has become are any of the major companies like Nikon or Sony thinking of producing their own model ?
It would probably be better and it might get back customers, like me, who put their DSLRs in the drawer.

It is Ok that you don't like photography very much.

Cellphones are rather poor cameras, telephones and computers but they are portable. Many years ago lots of folks were happy with their Instamatic cameras, too. My cell phone is off 90% of the time it is no pleasure to use. Even a rather small simple camera is more satisfying to use.

Nice Photos. A close North American relative of the Cashew is poison Ivy. Handling raw cashew apples without protection results in a reaction similar to poison ivy. Cooking fixes all.

My 2022 Chevy Blazer has headlights mounted near the ground. They illuminate road well but don't shine light a higher angles. The bright lights are also automatic turning off for an on coming car or if street lights are bright.

You do realize that Yahoo is a leading source of propaganda. Almost nothing they say is even close to the truth.

Singer Demi Lovato says we should not refer to extraterrestrials (people living in other parts of the universe) as aliens. It's a derogatory term, and we should use something else. I don't think she's come up with that word yet - maybe just "extraterrestrials." I think that would be offensive, too. It's categorizing them in relation to the earth. Now we know why aliens who come to earth always want to kill us.

There is a proper way to mount the glass. Hold it up to a LCD TV or computer screen and rotate it; the screen will go dark or black if the glass is oriented properly. That is the direction the camera should look through the filter.

My B+W filters are held in place with a retaining ring; not sure how it is attached because on some filters I have it screws in but I'm not sure how that ring is locked in on the B+W filter. But you can probably glue/expoxy the glass back in. Just be sure it is oriented properly as determined above.

Indeed CPL filters are directional. They have a front and a back side. Only light passing from the front side to the rear has the desired polarizing effect.

How Old is Grandma?

Stay with this -- the answer is at the end. It will blow you away.

One evening a grandson was talking to his grandmother about current events.
The grandson asked his grandmother what she thought about the shootings at schools, the computer age, and just things in general.

The Grandmother replied, "Well, let me think a minute, I was born before:
' television
' penicillin
' polio shots
' frozen foods
' Xerox
' contact lenses
' Frisbees and
' the pill

There were no:
' credit cards
' laser beams or
' ball-point pens

Man had not yet invented:
' pantyhose
' air conditioners
' dishwashers
' clothes dryers
' and the clothes were hung out to dry in the fresh air and
' man hadn't yet walked on the moon

Your Grandfather and I got married first, and then lived together.

Every family had a father and a mother.
Until I was 25, I called every man older than me, "Sir."
And after I turned 25, I still called policemen and every man with a title, "Sir."
We were before gay-rights, computer-dating, dual careers, daycare centers, and group therapy.
Our lives were governed by the Ten Commandments, good judgment, and common sense.
We were taught to know the difference between right and wrong and to stand up and take responsibility for our actions.
Serving your country was a privilege; living in this country was a bigger privilege.
We thought fast food was what people ate during Lent.
Having a meaningful relationship meant getting along with your cousins.
Draft dodgers were those who closed front doors as the evening breeze started.
Time-sharing meant time the family spent together in the evenings and weekends -not purchasing condominiums.

We never heard of FM radios, tape decks, CD's, electric typewriters, yogurt, or guys wearing earrings.
We listened to Big Bands, Jack Benny, and the President's speeches on our radios.
And I don't ever remember any kid blowing his brains out listening to Tommy Dorsey.
If you saw anything with 'Made in Japan ' on it, it was junk.
The term 'making out' referred to how you did on your school exam.
Pizza Hut, McDonald's, and instant coffee were unheard of.
We had 5 &10-cent stores where you could actually buy things for 5 and 10 cents.
Ice-cream cones, phone calls, rides on a streetcar, and a Pepsi were all a nickel.
And if you didn't want to splurge, you could spend your nickel on enough stamps to mail 1 letter and 2 postcards.
You could buy a new Ford Coupe for $600, but who could afford one?
Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon.

In my day:
' "grass" was mowed,
' "coke" was a cold drink,
' "pot" was something your mother cooked in and
' "rock music" was your grandmother's lullaby.
' "Aids" were helpers in the Principal's office,
' "chip" meant a piece of wood,
' "hardware" was found in a hardware store and.
' "software" wasn't even a word.

And we were the last generation to actually believe that a lady needed a husband to have a baby.
No wonder people call us "old and confused" and say there is a generation gap.
How old do you think I am?
I bet you have this old lady in mind. You are in for a shock!
Read on to see -- pretty scary if you think about it and pretty sad at the same time.

Are you ready?????

This woman would be only 70 years old, Born in 1952.

GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.
PASS THIS ON TO THE OLD ONES.
THE YOUNG ONES WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT.

There are at least a few factual errors in your list.

Television is not a single invention by one person. Paul Nipkow developed the concept of displaying a television picture in 1884. In the late 1920's through WWII there were mechanical televisions and broadcasts. Electronic television started immediately after WWII. Television in a modern sense certainly began in the late 40's based on inventions developed prior to WWII.

Credit Cards or Coins were in existence since the 19th century. The Air Travel Card began in 1934. Diners Club in 1950. There were also many department store cards. You are correct that Master Card and Visa started after 1952.

Air conditioning in some form or other existed before the 20th century. The Window Air Conditioner was invented in 1945. Movie Theaters had air conditioning long before home use was practical.

Dishwashers in the modern sense became available in the 1940's

The first patent for a ballpoint pen was issued in 1880. Serious manufacture of ballpoint pens began in the 1940s

Transportation of Frozen foods certainly dates back to at least the 19th century. Clarence Birdseye invented his process in 1929.

I like the idea of hydrogen. But why not hydrogen fuel cell? No nitrous oxide. No thermodynamic limits on efficiency which combustion engines are stuck with.

ALL PROCESSES AND ALL ENGINES are subject to thermodynamic limits. Mother Nature says its the LAW.

I have an AOL e mail account and I have Office 365. I can open .docx files with no issue.

1. many issues are solved by rebooting.

2. Try a different browser. Firefox and Google work fine for me. Also check browser settings for downloads.

2. Check the default apps for your computer. Select files by type. Look to see that .doc and .dotx are set to open with word. You could also just download the file and open later.

3. If you don't have a current copy of office down load Open office or Libre office. These will open office files and are free.
