Thank you all for your hel!! This is how I solved the problem! . I ended up making a new catolog on a second external drive. I put my new photos there. When I went back to other computer, I connected both external drives and was able to move the new photos to the "home" external. All the edits held because I had LR write EMP files attached to the photos..

I am an Apple computer and Lightroom user, and primarily use my desktop to download and edit my photos. I also have a laptop for travel. I keep my LR catalogue and photos on an eternal drive, and can use it on both seamlessly. I am becoming nervous about travel with my external drive, since everything is on that. I wanted to know if it is possible to set up a second external drive with a lightroom catalogue and just "working photo's" to download and work on when traveling. I would then want to be able to intergrate the "travel photos" to my"home external"?? If it is possible, how do I set it up?? Thanks for any suggestions!

I just opened a smug mug PRO account ( I think that's the least expensive account where you can do it) and am able to water mark . I also use lightroom. I found that the way to do it after you have your photos uploaded from lightroom to smug mug (there is a direct plug in ) you then have to creat a seperate watermark jpeg image on a clear background. You then upload that image to smug room in a seperate gallery. There is a drop down to apply watermark using a photo. Then you just choose the clear image with the water mark and smug mug overlays it onto your photos. That way, you are protected from people who just are looking, but the watermark is not there for those you want to sell or allow to print.

I actually did it!! Thank you all for your help!!! I did end up choosing SmugMug, and was able to create a new web site, close down my old and redirect traffic to the new site. It is still a work in progress, but I feel I have made really good headway. If you are interested, you can find it at BarbaraBarbourPhotography.com.
Any suggestions are welcome :-) Thank you all again for all the suggestions!

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a website service for photography. I have been using GoDaddy to host my site, but i started it when apple still was supporting "iWeb". Since they no longer support iWeb, my website has become too complicated for me to run myself. I was wondering what others use or would suggest. I am ready to switch!

I was in Acadia this year from October 13-20. The fall colors were spectacular and at peak. The residents of Bar Harbor said the week of peak colors vary year to year. Impossible to totally predict. Enjoy your trip!
