Paul you sure have the knack of taking pics of anything that has wings, be it birds, bees or butterflies. These are to me truly spectacular. And your added commentary is always a wonderful added bonus to whatever you post. I always look forward to your postings, please keep them coming.

Whats hard to believe there?

That I have aged just as much as these bands. Where the hell did all those years go. I feel sometimes that I must have missed half of them.😳

Such a pretty little birdie. Love her story. Hopefully, she'll get a mate and bring her babies to you also.

Thanks for the comment BlingRunner. No fear as I’m sure next year we will again have some of these big characters looking for a handout. My backyard abuts on a conservation area where they nest every year. Last year we had the pleasure to have 4 visiting regularly, a family of three (including this lady ) and another young single male. The best year we had was in 2018 when we had a total of 7 vying for our suet feeders, a family of 4 and one of 3. Talk about a circus πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

Beautiful close-ups of my favorite bird in all the world.

My first DSLR was a Canon Rebel XSi 12MP camera. Some of the best photos I have taken were with this camera, better than with my next 18MP T5i I think.

She is also one of my favourite Backyard birds. I tend to agree regarding the older camera as I got just as good as I do with my 24 T6i. But there is much more I can do with my new camera than the old XTi one.

She certainly is a pretty young lady. The fact there is some bond makes these pictures even more wonderful.

Sadly the bond is fleeting. Soon as she gets old enough to realize about us big unfeathered birds she tends to be like her elders and shy away from us. Instead of just a pretty lady she becomes a smart one.

Thanks Bill_de for the kind comment, tis appreciated. Not hard to give away something to a person whom comes back with a glowing smile on her face to show me what she was able to accomplish. Tis the best gift she could ever give me.

The XTi is what started my digital journey. Or should I say, obsession. Lol. Great image maker and camera to start with. Fond memories. Sold mine to fund the next, but have since found two more for cheap. Both, donated to others, and still being used.

Love the story and pics.

Thanks for the kind comment on my posting. The XTi was one of my first Canon DSLR's but I first started with a Fuji P&S type. Was kinda hard for this oldtimer to go from film to digital so I started small. Since I was always a Canon man it didn't take long to move on to the XTi. So far I've had the pleasure to pass on about half-a-doz old cameras mostly to budding photographers, both young and old. One of the small pleasures to my life.
