The San Francisco Peaks are mountains just outside Flagstaff, AZ, some 90 plus miles from Watson Lake and Prescott, AZ. In the winter when the snow comes, it leaves a blanket of snow on the peaks that we can see all the way from Prescott. When you are at Watson Lake during this time, the snow capped peaks make a beautiful backdrop to the lake. Enjoy.

Yesterday President Obama designated 1.35 million acres of Federal lands in SE Utah as the Bears Ears National Monument. Many of our greatest National Parks including 4 of Utah's 5 National Parks started as National Monuments. If you like photograph in wild lands (think Delicate Arch in Arches NP or Mesa Arch in Canyonlands NP) then you might consider contacting your Senators and asking them to support this proclamation. Despite all polls indicating a majority of Utahans support the Bears Ears, their Senators have vowed to have it overturned when Trump becomes President. The lands in the background of this photo are all in the Bears Ears

This looks like a beautiful area as do many national parks in Utah. I have photographed both the Arches and Canyonlands. Unfortunately, it rained four of the five days we were there. However, there was one day of sunshine and we made the most of it. I'm looking forward to a return trip one day.

Nice photos! Where, exactly, is Watson Lake, if I may ask?
Watson Lake is in Prescott, Az at the intersection of Hwy 89 and Willow Lake Road. I don't know if that helps or not. Have you been to Prescott, AZ? Thank you for your compliment on the photos.

A 2016 image of an iconic bridge.
As shot from Baker Beach? Well done. I always like this view of the bridge.
It snowed from noon on Friday, 12/30/16 until Saturday evening, 12/31/16. Sun came out Christmas morning and most of the snow on the roads melted so I could drive to Watson Lake and shoot these photos. It was a gorgeous day.
Thank you for your comment.
I love to photograph Watson Lake. Especially in the late afternoon when the setting sun lights up the granite boulders.
