To my taste, it's an ugly brute. I must admit it's different, though.

Not my idea of a good looking car, as well.

Phoenix breaks daily high temperature with 118 degrees, hottest daily high in 25 years

Where I live in Palm Springs, CA we are accustomed to well over 100 degrees temperature May through October every year. It is a dry heat with little if any humidity. One learns how to live with it. I take full advantage of using the mornings well . . . as that is the nicest time of day when it gets that hot . . . and of course we "never" go out for that walk around the block in mid afternoon. And air conditioned cars help a lot too.

AI is currently the hot topic of the day. It is in its infancy and the government is already making waves to regulate it. Just what we need - more government regulation.

I think we need "more GOOD government regulation"

Hi Folks:

My HP Officejet 5200 series printer has bitten the dust and I need to get another printer. Many here have suggested the Eco Tank printers from Epson. I am interested your collective thoughts as to which model I should consider. I print some photos and other colored objects along with the general b&w stuff. As others have suggested the cost of ink is going out of sight and the eco tank system may be a good, less expensive, option. Any thoughts, model numbers and why would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for the forthcoming information.

Hi Folks: br br My HP Officejet 5200 series print... (show quote)

I recently was in a similar place you seem to be. I had 2 printers. One was a low end Brother laser printer that has run flawlessly for about three years. The other is a 7 year old Brother ink jet that is black only and it copies and it has continuing ink jet problems. My plan was to replace the ink jet printer with a new one. Costco had a Epson Eco Tank printer on sale for $199. currently. After doing my homework I was told by more than one source that this Epson Eco Tank Epson printer would give me a lot of trouble. So I made the decision to buy another Brother laser printer that copies and prints. Yes I sacrificed all color printing but I wasn't doing much of that anyway. For color photos I send to a lab. I have had my new (1 year old used) printer a week now and it is working flawlessly. Hopefully "goodby ink jet problems". Good luck to you . . . whatever choice you make.

I always enjoy videos on Utube that depict man helping wild animals and vice versa . . . but I am beginning to wonder how many of these are "rigged" for purpose of creating a interesting video???

Does anyone make a device similar to Apples Air Tag that will work on a Google Pixel 7?

I keep getting spam mail supposedly from Wells Fargo. Today, they wanted me to change or update my email account. I guess they want to be sure that I keep getting their spam. No, I didn't click on it. That sentence was visible in the Spam inbox.

Interesting! This morning I receives a 3 page questionaire from (supposedly) Google titled "Settings and recommendations to help you keep your account secure). It's all question about Activity, verification, passkeys, passwords, recovery phone recovery email, etc, etc, etc. If I answered all their questions they would know practically everything there is to know about. Of course I will NOT fill it out and send it. But what I did do was print the 3 page inquiry out to show and discuss with friends. After finishing printing it out I checked my email incoming list and it had gone by then. I intend to get in touch with Google to ask them about this.

Have camera makers lost vision of actually making photos?
It seems that like the nuclear arms race of the cold war, cameras have generally become overkill to the taking of photos.
Yes, some advances are welcome, especially in the realm of AF and fps. But overall does a camera need to be so complex, needing over 1,500 pages of instructions in some cases, to use them?
Or are all the bells and whistles truly needed and used?
Just wondering for a friend.

Recently I had the use of 3 different rental cars . . . as my car was in the body shop for repairs due to an accident that was not my fault. It became painfully obvious to me that all of these particular rental cars used mostly symbols instead of simple words on the switching to indicate their use. I had these 3 cars for only a few days each and I spent quite a bit of time reading the car manual trying to remember what these meaningless symbols meant. Why not use simple words on each control switch such as on, off, up, down, etc., etc. Wouldn't it be better to make things more "user friendly". I would also like to see more "user friendly" applied to camera controls. You get the idea I hope.

More on Netflix passwords. I was a paid up subscriber to Netflix until yesterday when I quit them. They are requiring me to go through their "password routine" which I refuse to do . . . so I quit them. As a "paid up subscriber" I do not see why the "password routine" is necessary. I will consider rejoining Netflix only when they drop the "pasword routine".

While the cellphone may require less effort technically, there are the same challenges for photographers regarding composition and other factors such as effective use of light. Boring, uninspired photographs shot with a dslr are in ample supply.

I noticed that all the winners of this www.ippawards .com/2022-winning-photographers/?v=7516fd43adaa used iphone cell phones. Is there a message intended there?

Hybrids don't have to be plugged in, do they? Gas engine and electric motor, right?

My 1st hybrid was a 2013 Toyota Prius Hybrid that did not have the available plug-in. I drove it 62 thousand miles. Never had to do any repairs on it. I then sold it. My wife asked me why I wanted a new car and I told her that I am now 87 years old and I don't want the Prius to be my last new car (it had 62,000 miles on it). That seemed to work and and then I bought a new 2021 Honda Accord EL-X without the plug-in The 2 hybrid cars seem to get about the same overall gas mileage . . . around 47 and 48 miles per gallon overall. The big thing I like best about the Honda is the wonderful cruise control that it has. I can set the cruise control at 50 MPH and drive in heavy traffic without my right foot on either the gas pedal and brake. It has a resume speed button that does almost everything. Try it. I think you will love it if you drive in city traffic as most of us do. The best mileage I have ever got in the Honda Hybrid is 72 MPH. I had to control my driving speed and acceleration rate in order to achieve that. Many of my friends do not believe that statistic . . . but believe me . . . it did happen. I think hybrid cars are mostly a stop gap until electric cars become more popular which I believe will happen when plug-in electricity fill-up stations becomes as popular as gas station fill-up is now. In the beginning of gas cars it took a number of years before gas cars overtook the horse and wagon but it did happen. Be patient and it will all happen.

How did wives and cats get into this discussion. My wife certainly is a cat person . . . but then so am I. As a matter of fact it was I that introduced my wife to cats 58 years ago when we were married. That was one of the best years of my life. I have always been a cat person (and dogs). I had my 1st cat when I was about 7 years old and that introduced me to a lifetime of loving cats. When I am buried I have entertained the idea of having my gravestone marked "A man who loved cats and dogs".

If you’re looking for a bargain on an SM, I see that the Beverly Hills Car Club has one advertised on Hemings for 9K$ “just waiting for restoration”. Of course it is canary yellow, so there’s that.

It sounds good . . . but I think Citroen parts for that car will probably be hard to find anywhere in the world . . . and certainly a competent Citroen mechanic would be impossible to find in Palm Spring, CA where I live.

Like the old saying . . . Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That's not my idea of a beautiful car . . . especially the fins on the rear. What do I think is a beautiful car? A Jaguar XKE is one. Another is The "Most advanced car in the world in it's time the Citroen 1955 DS21 Pallas. If I could have any car in the world to drive the rest of my life (I'm 89) regardless of service and parts availability it would be the 1974 Citroen SM coupe with it's incredible (for it's time) pneumatic air suspension.
