Nice photos of mammatus clouds!
You were blessed to see and be able to photograph this. Its a stunningly beautiful photo. I hope you'll frame this one!
[quote=JCam]More distracting than the reflection of the sunlight off the ripples of the water, what I noticed first was the 'yellowish' rainbow shape ahead of the fisherman at about the edge of the ripples.
You're talking about the fly line.
The whites are blown out in both color and BW. If it were not for that, I think they'd be great.
I like this. Remember that the "rule" of thirds is nothing but a guideline. Sometimes, intentionally breaking that "rule" results in awesomely stunning images.
Personally, I prefer the originals. The last one, in particular, has an extremely grainy sky.

A nice photo and an even nicer message. Thank you.
Sometimes, it's worth getting up early.

These old water towers were iconic throughout Texas in the past, but more and more have been torn doen and replaced with more modern and larger, concrete structures. I miss them.

The vertical definitely focuses my attention more on the runners - not only because they're closer, but also because the 'watchers' are not in the image.
On my monitor, the sky is dark in the center of the photo. Is it just my monitor, of does anyone else see it? If so, it's distracting to me.
Does anyone here know what happened to he PhotoSig web site? I haven't tried to access it for a while, and now it looks as if it's no longer there. That was the one web site where I felt I could get honest critiques of my photos.
I've learned a lot from more knowledgable photographers' critiques of my photos. That's one reason I still post my photos. I welcome constructive criticism. Please add my name to the list, and thank you for posting this.
Seeing what's happening (and has already happened) to this once-great country, I'm thinking that we have every reason to be angry....but anger solves nothing. Nor does complacency. It's time for use to wake up, look and see what is happening in this nation, and get to work to stop it and, hopefully, turn it around - before it's too late...if that's even possible.
