Welcome to the next challenge.

I'm sure everyone has a pet or knows someone who does. Lets take some beautiful photos of our pets. Can't wait to your babies.

Still one of my favourite photos of Bally and Pinky

This is try #1 for me. Used natural evening light. Thought I had the silverware all straight - until I saw them in post. Had fun with this. Will try something else tomorrow. Good topic, Bob. Didn't do too well on eliminating shadows...

These are really good. A lot of thought went into these.

Thanks Photogirl17 (Lesley) for hosting another Free Weekend, a lot of nice photos there.

This challenge “Flat Lay Photography” is great for all kinds of things (small in nature) – books, food, jewelry, collectibles, etc! The idea behind Flay Lay photography is simply taking a picture from straight up above with no angle at all. Which can be tricky. I get to use this when the wife wants a photo of designs from the embroidery machine.
Helpful Hints:
If you don’t have a good lighting set up always try to use available natural light. I have used 2 small table lamps with 65watt/5500 degree kelvin led’s rated light bulbs when in a pinch.
Try to keep shadows down to a minimum, I believe harsh shadows are to distracting.
Always try to use complimentary colors for a background.

I decided to use some old School Books for this challenge.

An advance thank you to all who contributes to this challenge.
Bob

Very interesting challenge Bob. I have never heard of this type of photography before. I played around with a few things and came up with this one.

WOW! The pictures are really scary - I can't imagine how terrifying it was in real life!

Thank goodness it was only an F1 we just got wind, rain and hail. I was photographing it from the back porch. We were safe thankfully.

Oh my, Lorima! How close was it to you??

It was travelling along the tree line right next to our house. The tree you see is in our yard. Luckily we only got rain, hail and wind but a few farm down the road from us did get some damage. We were safe thank goodness.

I'm running a little late today but here are some photos I got last week as a Tornado touched down right next to our house.

Just as the Tornado touched down

Don't know what it was doing here, but looked like a space ship taking off

Thank you, yes we are but we found out this morning it touched down and damaged 4 farms just north of us, luckily no one was hurt.
