I have used Parallels to easily run my last ever PC program (need it for business clients). It even allows me to drop and drag from PC to Macbook. AND, Windows XP has never run so good for me.

I did have to purchase a Full Version of Win XP for $100 and Parallels for another $70 but it made my life much easier than rebooting my Windows PC 2-3 times a DAY. It was when Mac started using the Intel Chip that made it all possible.....

I ran Parallels Desktop for several years, Windows XP-Photoshop CS4 & Microsoft Office. Photoshop benchmarked faster on a Mac running in a virtual machine than a PC.

I guess I should know this, but what is "BBF"?

TIA

Sorry, Back Button Focus (BBF)- Makes it quick to switch between manual and auto focus.

I think what he is referring to, By default(at least on my EOS 40D) If you are shooting in "One Shot" Focus mode, The camera will not allow the shutter to fire unless focus lock is obtained.
You can switch to Servo or AI Servo mode, Or turn auto focus off on the lens, personally I use BBF so it never happens on mine.

A friend has a canon 20d , which has the same problem...he has no problem, but I have to mash it down-then wiggle it side to side t get it to fire. Talked to canon service on one of my visits, they said it needs a new button.
He is still using it, but it drives me crazy when he asks me to take a picture with his camera.

Why not plug the camera into the laptop and download the folder of pictures....review the ones you like, then email them to yourself.

Another option, I have the mark II, and had the mode dial upgraded to one with the lock button. It was $100 - done by Canon.
Or here is someone selling the knob for $35 on ebay

I agree, I didn't have my flash with me the first evening, got some really neat shots of the grandkids...animation in the water shows , ...but trying to get good shots with lots of backlighting is tough, unless you don't care if you blow out the background. Many of the indoor attractions don't allow flash anyways.on the parade route, there were several overhead lights that cause backlighting to the characters, I had to mix ambient with flash...even worse, try stopping the action on a ride like thunder mountain..after sunset. :-)...

I would disagree on the flash, just returned from 3 days at Disneyland and California adventure....parade characters hard to get in evening...even at iso 6400. Kids in front of Cinderella's castle..all lit up...need a flash.
If you are going with kids..and they want to see Mickey & Minnie...they are indoors, poorly lit, need a flash.
A lot of rides are decorated nice in the evening...hotel pools...city walk, better have a flash for people shots.
I had allot of gear too...7 people in our group. Only carried one lens, flash on belt, 2 cards, & camera battery

I don't care how old the camera is--as long as I know it's limitations. You can take really good photos with a throw away 35mm...as long as you are in bright daylight etc...
But I think the manufacturers are partly to blame for this. Yesterday my brother took his Canon EOS-1D Mark II N to Canon Irvine, the mirror is locking up, They would not repair it. They said they no longer offer support for this model.
This is still a very capable camera, esp for sports. But it seems the manufactures' are 'trying' to get them off the street.
Thereby making the choice for us.

You could use iMovie, Import all of your photos into iMovie, set transitions between photos-fade music in and out-add sound effects-then burn to a disk.
You can also make several slide shows, each with it's own menu button if you have enough room on the disk.

Thats pretty neat! One thing that caught my eye, was how the light is hitting your body from the left side, seems like the ice wall on the left should have a reflection or at least be brighter than the other side.
Great job - Hope you don't freeze to death !
