Marine Fighter pilots vs chopper pilots

You will enjoy this…

In the Marine Corps, you have to know there’d be a lot of back and forth between rotor heads and Fighter/Attack Types. Especially when you had separate bases right close to each other. One year, 3rd MAW was having a rash of accidents. The Wing Commander called a meeting at the base theater for all Group and Squadron C.O.’s… Plus all the Safety Officers and Assistants.

The General gave a collective “ass chewing” to all… In fact he went on so long, his audience was getting pissed. Instead of getting the “message”, lots of groans, shifting in seats, and sniffs occurred. Finally the General concludes with… “Is there anyone out there who doesn’t understand what I said or has any questions”. Total silence… But our Skipper was fearless, his name was Mike Gehring and then I see his right arm starting to ascend!? WTF?
The General sees it and says, “State your name and question”. Mike doesn’t miss a beat… “LtCol. Mike Gehring Sir… I’m sick of all the preferential treatment the fighter pilots are getting around here… Something needs to be done about it”.

The General, along with all the others present were stunned! Finally the General comes back with; “What the hell are you talking about”? Mike never skipped a beat… He says, “General, YOU might not have noticed… but believe me the rest of us have. Anywhere we go on base… every Primo parking spot is reserved for fighter Pilots! The Club, the Exchange, the Dispensary, even the Wing Headquarters”! The best, closest parking spot is always reserved for the jet Drivers! You have HAD to have seen them General.

The General then replied, “No, I don’t think I have seen them, how are they labeled?” Mike, with a small smirk on his face replied, “Well sir, they’re marked…..’HANDICAPPED'.

For about 10 seconds there was total silence… the General smiled, then total pandemonium. The General didn’t say another word. The theater then emptied.

Want to have some fun with house guests. Hang these on the back of the bathroom door so they will be visible only once the door is shut. Then change every day or so. Have had some real fun with this and the house guests really have enjoyed them also.

I'd have that beautiful creature posing for me rather than you! Seriously great shot. I wouldn't change a thing. Hope we see more of her.

The only thing is that she should have been fired not just a two week rest. Is she really that uneducated to make a statement like that or just r****t?

I need some help with MS Excel. The picture shows what I have done so far. Now the problem. If I do a “sort” of the date column no problem except the date only moves and every other cell on that line needs to move with it. It doesn’t, so there must be some way to connect those cells together so the information on that line all moves along with the date to the new position. Hopefully I have understandably explained what I am trying to do. I am no expert in excel so any help (step by step please) will be appreciated. Please PM me if you can help. Thanks in advanced. I have spent way too much time trying to understand how to fix this.

Not supporting doesn’t necessarily mean that your version will no longer work. I’m still using a 2010 version of Microsoft access as well as Word and they work just fine on my windows 10 laptop. They haven’t been supported for years. I’m not sure they will work on windows 11 so I haven’t upgraded to 11 yet.

As for keeping reminders and contacts I use what comes with microsoft. Calendar and clock. And I use contacts from Microsoft. There are many good contact apps available for free.

Good luck

Chuck

I know but I'm just not sure how long this older computer is going to keep running and if it bites the dust that will end the Act program as it's not downloadable anymore.

I have been using Act data base for years. Since I retired the only thing I use it for is reminders of doctor apts, etc., a do lists and keeping names and address in it. Now once again Act decided to increase their bottom line by coming out with a new version. Probably like in the past, not that much improved or different but they want $450 minimum to upgrade and will no longer support the previous version that I am using. I just can’t justify that today since I don’t need a powerful database anymore.

Since I utilize a minimal part of Act I am looking for suggestions that will fulfill my needs but at a lot more reasonable price. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Huey

Don't worry about those numbers. It's the number that actually believe it that worries me.

You remember the song that Cassandra Starr and her sister sang called ' Easter Hallalugha?' They have another out, same tune but rewritten for Christmas and just as beautiful as their first. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas

I love that song (the original or that version) but I don't listen to it often as I don't like to see or hear a grown man shedding tears and sniveling. There is something about that song that touches my sole or something. Thanks for posting and have a great Christmas.

Just purchased a new Dell XPS 8940 with Windows 11 to replace my old Dell that used Windows 10. I can't believe the only documentation that came with the computer was a little pamphlet with 10 pages about 1/4 the size of a sheet of copy paper showing what the holes in the case were for (USB, Speakers, etc.). Nothing else. Also, I can't believe Microsoft made Windows 11 so much different operating than Windows 10 and no documentation help. I don't know if anybody has like Windows 11 from the start but definitely not me! Hopefully I will feel different after I learn it?
