Download the PDF version from the support section of usa.canon.com. You can print individual pages, if needed. Text search against the PDF is much more efficient. Place the PDF on all your mobile devices as well as your various computers. When storing the PDF from the Canon site, rename to file to an accurate name like: EOS R User Manual.PDF

Thanks for the heads up. I made a shortcut on the computer to access the manual but your method is a much better solution. Somehow my manual must have found its way to the trash.

The manual is a very important tool. When I purchase a new camera I always leave the manual out on my nightstand. I recently purchased the canon eos r and did the same. However it somehow disappeared and now I’m looking on line each time I need to address a problem or want to make a change. A real pain in the ass.

I also have the R and was thinking about getting that lens. Can you post some images and also give us a review on how well it performs.

Some have suggested third party lenses for your canon r. Be very careful because many are not fully compatible with the EOS R. I have this problem with a year old Tamron lens.

I have one and it is one of my favorite lens. If you need a great travel lens........this is it.

I totally agree philo. I bought it for a trip to Florida and used it on my 6D and 7DII. I got great images with it, very sharp which I didn’t expect. I’m very disappointed that it won’t work on my EOS R.

VietVet... we've talked before. It works great on my EOS R with the adaptor!

Need a 24-105 Mirrorless Canon Lens for $650.00 OBO?

Cheers, Carl

Yes Carl I do remember you, it doesn’t work at all on mine but maybe I should check it again since I’ve done firmware updates. I also picked up another adapter for the R. I got the 24-105 RF lens with the camera as a package. I also have the older L version of that lens which I still use on my 6D.

I wish it would use the whole sensor for that, though. As it is It is no different than cropping a full frame image.

Of course it’s best to use the whole sensor, that is why I went from a 70-300 L to the 100-400 L. I’d prefer not to crop at all if possible although it does help with birding.

Pummel WOW those photos are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! I’m sure from my Canon T2i the shutter speed issue you’re referring to would be a big upgrade for me! Thank you for your insight!

Some have stated that you lose the crop factor of your old camera. The EOE R is a full frame camera and if you put an s lens on it it will automatically sense it an go into a 1.6 crop mode. You can even set it on a full frame lens in the setting. As far as compatibility all canon lenses will work fine. I’ve found them to be even sharper an they also focus more quickly however there are many issues with third party lenses so check carefully. Be aware EOS R lenses are much more expensive than the older L series lenses.

No G. Not hatred. Just a completely false narrative that attributes r****m and violence against black people to an easy non-accountable target. And unfortunately most people are either uninformed or willing to point to 'others' in order to avoid taking responsibility themselves to correct problems that do exist. What did K actually do to help? Did he start any initiatives to go into black communities to help with the housing and education of children? Did he try to address the much higher incidence of black on black violence and murder? Did he look to hold accountable the politicians who actually represent these districts throughout the country who actually do nothing? In fact, these politicians are the problem because it is in their interest to keep the inner-city populations under-educated, low income, and angry so that they (people of color+) depend upon these same politicians to provide the free services that they need to live. Who will inner-city v**ers v**e for? The same people who are actually responsible for their plight. And these same people are the ones shouting 'r****t' against those that are actually trying to bring about positive changes. People are r****t. Not our country. Not only is our f**g a banner of freedom; it is and does represent the ability for all Americans to pursue their dreams. People get in the way. It is easier to blame someone else for the failure of others. And these 'others' are not the people of color who suffer; but the people who are loudest in casting blame.
No G. Not hatred. Just a completely false narrativ... (show quote)

Let me get this right. You used the tamron 28-300 lens with adapter to shoot the paint can image with the Canon RP. I’ve got this lens which I love but upgrade to the canon eos r and found the lens is not yet compatible with any of the new Canon R series cameras.
