It's unfortunate that we have the terminology we do in photography. "I'm going out to shoot some kids." "Be sure to get head shots."

When you out in public with people around, someone could call the police if they overheard that conversation. I try to avoid "shoot" and "shots," but it ain't easy.

Another thing is the names of cameras. Nikon had the F series - the FTN - and then they went to digital - Z 6. Why, oh why, did they put a space after the Z in the digital names? Z 6, Z 7? Look online, and you'll see them written with and without the space. And then they introduced the Zf and the Z fc. Did they run out of numbers? I've lost track of spacing in the Zf names. Nikon isn't the only camera company with bad model names. For companies with such clever people, they should be able to come up with consistent names that let the public know what kind of a cameras they are seeing.

The only OEM battery that has ever failed for me was one that I mismanaged. I left it in a camera that doesn't get much use and it discharged to a level below the charger's acceptable start voltage. It is now seen as a battery with a bad cell which I cannot charge. Still trying to find an older off-brand charger to see if I can get it to work. But it may also be the protection chip in the battery blocking the charger, so I may just be out of luck and out a battery.

Several years ago, I bought a ProMaster battery that delivers power, but does not communicate properly with any of the cameras that it fits. My camera store was selling ProMaster batteries instead of Nikon at that time.
