I have a Canon T6i
How do you know when the memory card is full?
The original card was only 16 GB
It tells you on the LCD screen...
See pages 28-30 of your manual
Thanks CHG
is that the total number of shots per card?
My card says 692
Where is the full indicator?
I took several recent pictures that show on the LCD screen but not available when I downloaded to my computer.
I must be missing something very basic.

Most camera's show the number of shots still available on your current memory card. So, in your case, you have about 692 shots left. But you know, you can check this YOURSELF. Take a shot, your count should now be one less, or 691. Try it, you might be surprised what you can do ON YOUR OWN.
My Canon will indicate "No Image" if the card is empty and you press the review button. I believe it will indicate "Card Full" when there is no more room for the photo size you are shooting. The estimated number of remaining photos will be displayed along the way as others have indicated. The number of available shots will depend on the card capacity and the file type/types and sizes selected. I only recall filling a card a couple times. This also assumes the card is properly formatted for your camera. My Canon may be different in operation, so your mileage may vary...

It is a count down based on the memory already used and your quality settings. The 692 means you should be able to take 692 more shots with your current settings. After you take the next one, it should change to 691.
Your camera will reduce each shot you take. All menus are not exactly the same, on where the remaining shots are shown. RAW files, of course, will have larger files than JPEG. I generally use 16gb and 32gb SD memory cards. I have never filled a 32gb SD memory card. Yet.
THANK you Jerry for the leads.
It really helped.
When I download from my Memory card to the computer it does not show the most recent photos thus I assumed the card was full which is not the case. The card has 692 shots remaining.
Any thoughts on why my most recent shots do not show when downloading.

Look at the card while it is hooked up to the computer.
See if the photos you are asking about are showing up on the card.
If they are then select them and copy then paste to the correct folder in your computer.
They should then show up on the computer.
Is it possible that you created a new directory on the card? I've done that accidentally before. It's not hard to do.

That’s what I’m thinking. The pics are on the card if they’re showing up in review. They’re probably in a new folder on the card.
