Use Firefox as your browser and it will sync your laptop to your PC wired or wireless. It costs nothing.

It is odd....3 years ago EVERYONE seemed to say PS and LR was always the best option. now....not so many....the alternatives have either got better or else GAS has moved from hardware to software!!!!

have fun

If you have Adobe Elements, you might consider looking on line for Photoshop Elements Plus (+). It's sell for very little and unveils many abilities in Elements that are not available to you with Elements itself.

It works by installing an add-on menu with addition abilities by mining the code that Elements shares with Photoshop. You buy Elements Plus for each version of Elements. The newer the version of Elements you have, the more capabilities that Elements Plus will give you.

It depends on your requirements....

I have Elements 14 and 2019, Photo Impact Pro, and Cannon's DPP. They do all I need to be done, and all are buy once. (My needs don't require me to update often. One was six years before I updated.)

Let us all take heed. >Alan

Got me. I usually catch typos, but not this one! Dang double tick keys.
(I'm gonna try to remove cannon from the dictionary!)
Been using Canon since 1972, so I do know how to spell it.

I have the package and I like it. How can you go wrong for $10/month. You have the latest and greatest with automatic upgrades so it never gets dated. Photoshop is a big learning curve and you might never need 10% of what it offers but you also get Lightroom which will help organize and package everything and it does about 90% of your post processing. I only use PS for stuff LR won't do like adding a different background or painting out or painting in an element. For the price it's great.

People get the CC version confused with the cloud version. They assume all your pics are stored in the cloud. That is an option if you like but you can very easily store all you pictures at home on your own hard drive. You subscribe to it for as long as you like and when you don't want it anymore you can stop. I think there is a limit of time you have to subscribe before you can opt out so read the fine print.

I bought Adobe CS3 way back when it was new. Paid once. It does all I need. I am a hobbiest. I also have GIMP which is free. There is a learning curve, but it updates for free and does most of what PS does. There are many free softwares out there, for a hobby do you really need the top of the line pro software?

The problem is the older versions are dated and there are better tools now. And there's the fact that if you have a problem Adobe doesn't support it anymore. Nothing does everything PS does. It is the standard against which others are measured.

I’ve used Gimp quite a bit and it’s great freeware. If it was just photoshop I probably wouldn’t subscribe and use Gimp, but 98% of my edits are in Lightroom. It’s better and easier for the things it does.

My opinion is yes, without doubt.

Usually the train of thought on UHH is which program to use. The comparisons are usually one against another. Maybe Elements vs Photoshop. Or Lightroom vs ON1, etc.

The (usually) unnoticed trend at Adobe is that the parts of the $10 plan are being linked together. Each update brings stronger links. Photoshop CC, Lightroom (mobil) CC, Lightroom Classic (disk) CC and Portfolio are a bundle. One day you may be on a "make a print" work flow. Another day you want to put a dozen images in an online Gallery to share. A different day you want to add a recent favorite to your permanent Portfolio. One day you take a picture with your phone and want it in Lightroom Classic. There is a way to do that automatically.

Top it off, Topaz can be integrated into both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to make the system even more capable.

I agree!
