Yeh like you really need it, a lot of us have guns here but very very few of us have a licence to carry. There is no need. If something comes up there is no gun to grab and start shooting, everyone walks away alive. Sure we have some nuts here but they come far and inbetween. I have never met anyone that needed one to save their lives. I know no one that would be alive today if they would have had a gun. I have an assortment of legal guns and our government is not trying to take them from us. Can you figure out why. I didn't think so.

Hey Kraken, I noticed you disappeared after people started bringing up facts. Why don't you want to talk anymore? Perhaps you can refute ten comments from Dennis with one of your one-line sound bytes.

Because he’s a troll.

The second meme is a little off. That actual truth is in Jeanne Assam's own statement:

"This message is regarding a post about me. It has a picture of me and words to the effect that I was just some random woman at New Life church when a gunman entered. The fact is that I am and was a police officer at the time of the shooting. I was part of the volunteer security team that day at the church.

Outside in the parking lot, Murray shot 5 more people, killing 2 and wounding 3 others before I engaged and killed him inside the church, shooting and striking him 10 times. I engaged and killed the gunman. I was 5 feet from him when I had to fire the last of 10 accurate rounds. He did not kill himself and I am the one who got his blood all over my clothes from arterial spray. Trust me, if he killed himself, I would have both seen and heard it. He didn’t.

Please post the TRUTH regarding my incident. That post floating around about me is completely FALSE."

I can appreciate and respect the officer wanting the truth to come out. But the still remaining point is that there was someone there with a firearm who was able to stop evil and more killing by using a firearm. Most likely, with any other type of weapon, that would not have been accomplished. So thank you officer for being there to stop more lives from being taken.

The other point the Left forgets is that police are almost never around when the shooting starts. They usually need someone to call them to report the shooting in progress. OR, as is the case with Broward County PD in Florida, the officers were too lame and/or were told not to engage by their supervisor(s). Most likely an armed citizen will be there to save the day.

Gun laws and gun confiscation are not the same thing. Only a simpleton would confuse the two - either deliberately or due to a lack of comprehension. No one is trying to take your guns away - in fact, improved, standardized gun licensing requirements actually protect your second amendment rights but the NRA obfuscates that in order to protect gun manufacturing profitability- but you’ll not likely accept that truth or believe it when pointed out to you.

No one is confusing the two. Leaving the NRA out of it over the years various democrats have said they'd like to do away with guns. One former DNC vice chairman even wrote an opinion piece saying to abolish it. They'll never be able to do it outright so the best way is incrementally. Ban 'assault' weapons first. Sounds reasonable to those who don't own that kind of gun and know nothing about them. Then impose more restrictions which of course the criminals will ignore. Those not working? Keep tightening further and further but do it slowly so the frog doesn't realize it until too late that the water is hot.

Seeing what's happening is awareness not lack of comprehension.

Not necessarily true. I have heard for years the same old crap about, nobody is trying to take your guns away. You can believe what you will but that statement is a bald faced lie. California has taken part in confiscating firearms that after purchase, the attorney general's office has deemed that those guns, unregistered, will be confiscated. NY has done the very same thing. Surely you know that at least these two states have confiscated weapons from lawful owners after the state has changed the law. So you can spout crap all you want but you are wrong, spelled with a capital WRONG.

The NRA obfuscates nothing. Manufacturers of firearms are exactly like manufacturers of any other item in America and the world. They manufacture firearms for use by consumers. If there was no demand for firearms the companies would go out of business. How you plan to throw the NRA in that equation is beyond my thinking and probably most other people with common sense as well.

The NRA supports the 2nd Amendment. That is what they do as well as promote firearms safety to citizens, police agencies and the military. My question to you is why don't you and other Liberals support the 2nd Amendment? Improved standardized licensing procedures protect nothing. Any type of registration protects nothing for gun owners. I say all of this as a police and NRA firearms instructor who has spend most of my life carrying a firearm either for the USMC, police and a corrections agency. I am on record of telling every person I can to never but ever register any firearm. Perhaps you can surprise me and tell us one good reason why firearms should be registered to begin with.

I see what you have said but please explain how more gun laws are going to stop an evil doer from perpetuate his task.

I am wanting to know that answer too. Let’s face it, each new gun law is an admission that the thousands of gun laws prior did not work. As criminals do not obey laws any gun laws are only to control the honest citizen.
