In number three, with apparently the bird interacting with you (so it seems) the viewer is now aware of the photographers presence. Are photographers intended to be part of the birds environment. Also, with #3 the bird looks like he is about ready to split because of your presence. I like to think of wildlife photography as being able to capture some behavior that is natural and not influenced by the presence of people. Number 5 now to me looks like more of a natural, undisturbed setting that better demonstrate what is going on in the life of this bird. The photographer is not interfering in that behavior. I change my vote to #3.
Great post with great photos. The question you asked makes on think about what is good (or bad) in each of the photos and why one's preferences are what they are.
