I like 3 and 1 in that order. All very nice.
#3 with his eye focus for me
One definitely has a classic look, but five has a bit of fun to it with the open beak and position of head and feet. I was just out shooting some cardinals this morning. Haven't processed yet, but I daresay yours have a much cleaner composition.
For a Hallmark card I’d pick #2,
For impact #4
I like #3 because the subject is engaging with you.
3-But best shots of Red Cardinal I've seen red is hard because little contrast to work with-nice shots!
3 or 4 , almost identical .
All of your images are technically good. Sharp, good background, good color, nice perch.
To me the best bird images are when the bird engages and a dynamic pose- in other words doing something besides just sitting there. It's more difficult to get both so if I had to chose it would be the bird doing something. So I like the last one the best. It is not looking totally away and it looks less static- adds some energy to the image.
All are great, I would pick 1 and 4.
Looking at it thru the eye of a painter, I like #5 the best. They are all very sweet shots, though.
They are ALL excellent shots. IF I have to pick one, I really like number two the best. To me, it looks like he is saying: " what are you taking my picture for?" "Just leave me alone".
Thanks for sharing.

UHH'rs, I Was lucky to get these shots of a fine Northern Cardinal here in Michigan. Now, I'd like to work on the pose that's the most popular. I'd like your vote on the pose. The colors on all of them could be better. But it's the pose that I would appreciate your opinion on. Thanks.
Highlights, shadows and colors pop more in 3 and 4. He has a fabulous, alert pose in #3, a more relaxed, comfortable portrait look in #4. To enhance even more, I'd whiten the catch light in the eyes just a bit. All are beautiful but if I had to pick just one...#3
Very good set, #4 for me.
