Just another communist talking point. Cuba manages its infant mortality rate aggressively for its propaganda value.

If you check the World Health Organisation or the CIA Data base, these are the source of this 'Communist Propaganda'. You do not change the data by vilifying it... Maybe rather than taking the effort to discredit it, you realise there is a problem and put the effort to correcting it.

Can you explain what Global Climate Change has to do with Amazon and NYC.

Good question... I was responding to someone's comment are CO2 and climate change...

You're correct... should get back on topic.

So? Does that make co2 guilty. Co2 has been around for how long??? How come its only now that it is so dangerous?? what were the emissions in 1082, 1400. 866bc???? Why does co2 get all the blame???? You seem bound and determined to make an unproven entity guilty of floods, fires, famine, etc. Why don't you worry about something that needs worrying about like the GRID; or dependence on foreign nations for strategic minerals? Or term limits for our friends in Congress and at home...There are so many things that desperately need our attention and we worry about CO2. Carbon Taxes thats another great cure for co2. Go buy some
kilowatt hours of wind/solar power and add that to your electric consumption. Thats another good gimmick brought to you by the climate changers and weightless string and frictionless table top producers.

Show me proof not models provided by scientists, journalists, and computer nuts that global warming really exists. PROVE IT. Don't use consensus, 97% of scientists garbage, etc.

"Global Warming" was a complete fraud from the beginning. The fact that (1) hacked emails revealed a continuing conspsiracy among "climate scientists" to jigger the data and results to support their desired result, and (2) the University of East Anglia, keeper of all the raw "data" on which the theories and the infamous hockey stick graph were based, chose to destroy the data rather than disclose it after finally being ordered to disclose under Britain's freedom of information act, are pretty much irrefutable proof that the whole thing was a scam. All of the noise on the subject is still dependent on that original, now-nonexistent, "data." The fact that the scammers have had to change the label to "climate change," given that the earth did not boil away 10 years ago as originally predicted by the "scientists," is a further indication that the same crowd is still looking for suckers to sign onto their little game.

Quit using the 'socialist' tag for those that want a better society. Pretty soon the parties will cave. Your huge social problems have been created by the capitalist approach. Even Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate than the US... go figure. Look at the huge number of people living on the street... and, people have to have two or three jobs to survive, let alone buy a house or get a university education.

Your system is broken, and, needs fixing.

Dik

How was Christ a socialist?
There is nothing in the scriptures that indicate such a system.
Or do you have a special democrat version.
How in ALL history has socialism made society better as a whole?

The "Vocal Few" won, even though they had no idea what they were talking about. The "Vocal Few" want the state and the city to spend the $3B directly. But the $3B does not exist in either the city or state accounts. It was taxes they Amazon did not have to pay, but the 25,000 employees would pay taxes, the construction works would pay taxes, Amazon would pay $15B in taxes in first five year. This tax money would be use to fix transportation ans school issues, now it is gone. "Vocal Few" solution is for more taxes for upstate residents, because they have jobs.

She will be challenged....remember, she won with a voter turnout of something like onlyaround 11.8 percent!

This is simply not true! She received over 110,000 votes and total voter registration in NY’s 14 District is approx 245,000. Do the math.

I suggest that perhaps you should do the math...and read again, From The New York Post, "...only about 13 percent of registered Democrats turned out to vote in the 14th Congressional District that takes in parts of Queens and the Bronx, according to a preliminary city Board of Elections tally.
There are 214,750 active registered Democratic voters in the district. Only 27,744 voted, and Ocasio-Cortez won by more than 4,000 votes. Get it? Registered Democrat voters!

Unfortunately, corporations tend to play the states like a bunch of chumps when it comes to locating/relocating offices, factories, distribution centers, etc.

Amazon is such a behemoth, that it can dictate terms of where it wants to locate. When Amazon put out the word they wanted to build WHQII, states and cities went nuts trying to outbid each other for the location. I live outside of Detroit, and the promises made to them by Detroit and the state of Michigan were mind numbing. And since there are 50 states, and hundreds of large cities, they tend to compete for that last dollar of tax revenue.

There is a multiplier effect when a giant like Amazon does move in. In New York's case there were 25K jobs and a $3 billion tax rebate. Estimates were a ROI of $27.4 billion over ten years in increased tax revenue for the deal. That doesn't include all the ancillary and unrelated companies which may have located to be near Amazon. So, the total added tax revenue would probably be well beyond the $27.4 billion. There would be additional retail, medical, restaurants, etc., that would arise.

The problem lies with the coziness of big business with big government (all levels). Businesses like to brag about their love of independence, but it only lasts until they start losing money, then they go to government for protection, handouts, etc., to save their collective bacon.

There's been a lot of grousing about Amazon not paying Federal taxes for the last two years. Just who wrote and enacted the tax codes? I don't remember getting a meeting notice from anyone. Amazon is like every other company that has the dollars to fund K Street lobbyists.

However, this tactic has been used by business since the beginning of the Republic. Railroad, steel, oil, and many others have played the game.
Unfortunately, corporations tend to play the state... (show quote)

Back during the Great Recession of 2009, TN continued paying Volkswagen $500M in perks for a new factory while letting GM Saturn (in Nashville) close down and go out of business.

Yes, from what I understand the Co2 levels at the time of the dinosaurs was about 10 X what it is today, and the earth was flourishing with plant life, enough so that we are reaping the benefits in oil today. They don’t rely on real science anymore.....they rely on computer models that are 100% dependent on the assumptions that go into it!

There's so much data out there connecting Climate Change to CO2 emissions, it's hard to know where to stop. Catch the link:

This is a non-profit, non-government organisation and has no political or industry ties. It likely won't convince you since I think you are beyond that. Give your head a shake and look at what's happening in the US and around the world. There are big changes, and, they will likely get worse.

Got confirmation bias?

Try reading up on the commsecti9ns of king tides, west African droughts, the sun......all on climate change.

A smarmy, subjective answer based in ignorance. Read the info from the open proposal and you will get your answer.

Also, your ignorance on salaries of “executives” is astounding!
