Thank you Mr. Quark,
Politeness and consideration comes easily when two people agree on an issue. The real test of character is when you are poles apart.
PS: Is that Quark as in TOP?

It is indeed well said and I thank you for your civil response. Mine, which was to Architect1776 was not in the least bit civil and was a response in kind to his constant derogatory remarks about those who don’t share his views. He made the comment about all who don’t think like him are the largest uneducated group, etc. The conversation could be about the beauty of Michelangelo’s “Pieta” and he will make some insulting comment about Liberals or Democrats. In my opinion he is an anal orifice and I call ‘em like I see ‘em. He’s not an anal orifice because of his politics. He’s an anal orifice because of who he is in. While I neither share nor understand your support of the current occupant of our White House, it’s your choice, you’re free to make it and I would have it no other way. My opinion is that we all suffer because of that choice, but hope it will be corrected soon. My comment about him probably or possibly being guilty of treason is based on the string of events and statements involving him, his family, his campaign and those who worked for it. I also believe his giving intelligence classified top secret to the foreign minister and ambassador of Russia while they were all in the Oval Office is an act of treason. As is his showing a video of his meeting with SEAL Team Five in Iraq, their presence there not having been public knowledge before that. Then there’s his fawning over putin, his never criticizing him, the private meetings with no information about what was discussed or agreed to. What’s the old expression, “If it looks like a duck,” etc., etc? I hope my response is more to your liking than the one to Architect1776 (who is still an anal orifice) was. If any of your questions were left unanswered, let me know and I’ll try again.

I appreciate your most courteous and well thought out response. Like you, I can tolerate differing opinions. In fact I rather enjoy an animated discussion with divergent points of view. Life would be quite boring if we were all of a like mind.
Perhaps I can address a few of your comments:
1. You cannot understand my (limited) support of Trump.
a. Although he sometimes acts like a loud mouth buffoon he does have a head for business. In my opinion it is better to run this nation like a top notch corporation rather than a nanny state.
2. Although you were not specific on your "we all suffer" comment I will respond.
b. The economy has improved, people in the work force have more and better choices, small businesses and self employed people are enjoying some tax relief as well as increased family deductions. He's paid attention to the problems of the VA and tried to address the drug problem. Personally I believe Trump and I are of a like mind: The less government the better. Keep your nose out of my business and your hand out of my pocket. Let me stand or fall on my own. The government can protect the borders and build the roads.....let me live my life.
3. As for your "treason" concerns.
c. Trump came to the office with no prior experience in politics. In the first days his arrogance caused him great harm. He was misled, lied to, duped, tricked, set up and made to look and act like a fool and worst of all kept tripping over his own ego. As for him or anyone in his family being t*****r: please read Paul Kengor's "Dupes". If Trump is a t*****r he is certainly not alone.
4. Your Putin comment:
d. Trump gives everyone the benefit of the doubt until they prove themselves otherwise. Remember, it's been two years and there is not yet evidence of collusion (which is not illegal to begin with). Think about the sanctions he's poured on Russia and what he's done to their economy. If Putin had any evidence against Trump he would have put the screws to him by now.
e. I am not knowledgeable enough about the Seal Team 5 issue to have an opinion.
In closing, I have never met Trump so I don't know if I even like him but of this I'm certain; Trump is like my dog (an eighty pound mutt), when he makes a mess it's right there in the middle of the floor for the whole world to see and step in. Most politicians, are like cats . Their messes are in a corner hidden behind a chair. You can smell it but can't see it. That's why Trump got my v**e.
Thanks for making me articulate my thoughts. I needed the exercise.
