I wish it was a better photo but it was a point and shoot camera and I didn't see anything with my naked eye so it was just a snapshot. But "Oh My!!!" was my reaction a few days later too.
I definitely do see what looks like a dark horse and rider. Very scary, but many of our young men did have their lives shortened and this one may be looking for a way home and hasn't found it yet.
Now you have me looking at it, satorifarm. I see a dark horse on the right, possibly laying down. I think for the size of the "horse" it should be taller. So maybe it's laying down, and I see a darker area on the horse that could be a rider. Although why is there a rider if the horse is laying down? Now...do I really see this? Or have I also been staring at it too long??? :) I definitely see what you're talking about, though. I'm fairly skeptical about this stuff but sometimes things just can't be explained. I'll completely disbelieve the paranormal when someone scientifically proves it doesn't exist. Until then....maybe...

Hi...Several years ago I visited the Gettysburg Battlefield for the first time. What a photographic wonderland! Anyway, I had a decent point and shoot camera at the time, not a DSLR, and I snapped many photos over 4 days. About a week after I got home, I sat down to look at them all. The photo I'm going to show you was taken in the Wheatfield part of the Battlefield. Please note that I was NOT "ghost hunting" and I did not hear or see anything unusual at the time. It was only after I started closely inspecting this days later that I saw this. The first is the original photo. The second is a cropped area along the back fence line and the third is a black and white version of the cropped area. See the horse and rider? I was actually back in Gettysburg this past spring and made it a point to go back to that same place at the same time of day. I walked up to the fence in that exact spot because I wanted to see if it could possibly have been shadows from the trees behind the fence. Nope Those trees,(except for 1) are actually on the other side of a narrow road, so they are not as close as they appear in the photo. Please let me know what you think. I have been staring at this thing for years now...

Ever do a Rorschach Inkblot test? You would surprise yourself at what you can "see". Our minds are "trained" to bring out images that match our past experience. Viewing your shots, I can see other things that match up with what I have seen in the past. The point is that I am making the connection in my mind. Impressionism would be the art form that comes closest to what we do. I play a game in which I try to find faces in whatever I am looking at. I find myself being successful a large part of the time when I do it.
So. You are not crazy. You are just normal.
Or if you need some scientific term. You are suffering with Photography Ectoplasmatic Interpretation.
I do believe in the spirit world, and this could be in that realm. For those that say they don't, well, we all have our opinions. I have had spiritual things happen to me that have no rational explanation. Maybe you have the ability to see what others don't.
Foliage and shadows, that if one tries hard enough, appear to be ghostly apparitions of something familiar even though the shapes and proportions are wrong.

Photos like this always benefit from large blow-ups of small areas, exaggerating the etherealness so that fuzziness can be imagined to be something else. Had you had a 400mm lens focused on that exact spot at the time, do you think you would have had a very sharp image of a ghost and his horse?
Some people enjoy being a butt. However; don't see what you are seeing.
Now I do! Very interesting.
I believe that many photographers at one point have taken an image that may not be easy to explain. I have a few myself. But being Gettysburg considered one of the most haunted places, it makes the image most interesting.
Especially, if you go to Gettysburg (or anywhere else for that matter) with the intent to capture paranormal activity, chances are you won't get much if any. So, I think this image is rare as well. If I were the op I would explore ways to enhance the image and extract as much detail as possible.
I see two horses and riders, obscure, but there
I see what you're talking about. With a little stretch of the imagination it looks to me like a horse and rider going away from you toward the fence. I'm guessing there could be other explanations, but interesting to speculate. Who knows?
I see the horses and a figure (head and shoulders) in the field
