Hi...Several years ago I visited the Gettysburg Battlefield for the first time. What a photographic wonderland! Anyway, I had a decent point and shoot camera at the time, not a DSLR, and I snapped many photos over 4 days. About a week after I got home, I sat down to look at them all. The photo I'm going to show you was taken in the Wheatfield part of the Battlefield. Please note that I was NOT "ghost hunting" and I did not hear or see anything unusual at the time. It was only after I started closely inspecting this days later that I saw this. The first is the original photo. The second is a cropped area along the back fence line and the third is a black and white version of the cropped area. See the horse and rider? I was actually back in Gettysburg this past spring and made it a point to go back to that same place at the same time of day. I walked up to the fence in that exact spot because I wanted to see if it could possibly have been shadows from the trees behind the fence. Nope Those trees,(except for 1) are actually on the other side of a narrow road, so they are not as close as they appear in the photo. Please let me know what you think. I have been staring at this thing for years now...

Don't see it. You must have a very active imagination.

Not clear enough for me but I have captured "echos" of the past before.
I see a horse and carriage, sort of like a horse drawn hearse partially hidden by the big tree trunks. This is like seeing images in the clouds.

What I see is a dark horse galloping. And to the left is possibly another, jumping the fence into the field. Or it's nothing at all. Just curious, not crazy.
Honestly? I think the figure just to the right of the 3rd rightmost tree looks like Bigfoot squatting.
I'm from around there. People see what they want, or expect, to see. The guides love it. They'll change the story a bit, and certain people will see whatever he last said. People? Horses? There!
Faraway thunder = ghost horses. You didn't say anything about the legends of the vultures. Or the story of the Yankee bullet passing thru the testicles of a Reb, into a local virgin and impregnating her. Cannon balls and rifle bullets meeting and merging whilst airborne.
Did you see the museum? The evolution of firearms used? It's kinda amazing the short years between the Lorenz made here and the German Mauser.
Ok look...this wasn't supposed to be a joke. I was asking a serious question about a photo that has puzzled me for a long time. I thought maybe photographers were the right people to show it to. But I don't want it to be some kind of joke. I am a skeptical, sane person. So instead of just making fun of this, if someone would tell me if there is a way to delete the whole topic, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

To add to this thread, a friend took a photo 25 years ago of an old homestead, 1880's, and on the upper balcony was a woman with flowing dress and broad brimmed hat. The only problem with this lady was you could see through her. The camera was a 110 and I saw both the print and negative. There are images that cannot be explained.

I don't believe in ghosts but that doesn't say there aren't paranormal experiences. I looked very hard at the two cropped shots and can see "something" - just wish those crops could have been enlarged further on the download.
I definitely see what you're referring to, both left and right, very interesting in deed.
