Black and white seems to tie the picture together. Seems to make me look at the entire man instead of parts of him here and there but that is just my opinion. Have fun deciding.

I don't know if he's aware of it. I felt he had a distinct apearance. I'm sure that's what drew me to make the photograph. I've certainly had some responses. Thanks
In the bw one the subject recedes into the background, making him look smaller. I suspect that is because the branches have more weight in the photo than in the color one where they are secondary.
This is a tough choice. I like them both but I feel the color image has a bit more "depth" to it. Note the subtle shadows in the face and the change of tones in the color image as opposed to the B&W one.
Actually both are very good. There's a great feeling of a life well lived in each.
