Does the black and white say more than the color? Which works best?
Taken with P1000 in portrait mode. 1st time using this mode

Black and white seems to tie the picture together. Seems to make me look at the entire man instead of parts of him here and there but that is just my opinion. Have fun deciding.

Fred, both photographs are impressive. Is your subject aware he has a double working in the film industry?sv

I don't know if he's aware of it. I felt he had a distinct apearance.
I'm sure that's what drew me to make the photograph.
I've certainly had some responses.
Thanks

I have always liked the "mystery" of black and white photographs. They are both very good images, but I go for the bw.

In the bw one the subject recedes into the background, making him look smaller. I suspect that is because the branches have more weight in the photo than in the color one where they are secondary.

Agree. Color is better imho.

This is a tough choice. I like them both but I feel the color image has a bit more "depth" to it. Note the subtle shadows in the face and the change of tones in the color image as opposed to the B&W one.

Actually both are very good. There's a great feeling of a life well lived in each.

It's gotta be black and white for a subject with such classic features.
