Bill, don't use that camera. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say "You're a girly man". Just kidding!
That's a great collector's item.
More likely it used 127 film. Remember it? When Ektachrome was available in that size, you could shoot projectable "Super Slides" that fit 2 x 2 mounts. Rollei, Yashica and several other manufacturers made high quality cameras for that size. It's all history now, but those cameras are highly collectable.
I think was an Imperial camera.

Accd. to Google there were many GS cameras . Westinghouse M2 in 1955. Unknown maker bellows pocket camera in 1929-34. This one an "Imperial Mark XII made by Herbert George co. Came out c. 1956 and took 620 film. One can be had for 20$,+,-. You need two' penlight'(AAA?)batteries.
There is an online G.S. museum, too.
Bill
If Herbert George rings a bell, it was also H.G. Wells' name.

You nailed it. It clearly was an Imperial.
The camera takes 12 shots on 620 film.
In "civilian" form the camera was known as Imperial Mark XII Flash by the Herbert George Co.
It had a curved focal "plane" for nice barrel distortion.
Noticed the curved roof line.
I think my family had one of these cameras at that time.

Not much different from my first Kodak Brownie, except it was brown.

Big sis had one and at 10 I took it up to the top of a roof ridge to shoot Mt. Rainier.
Yep. Dropped it from 40 feet or so. Me or it.
Lucky me, it landed in a boxwood. Not a scratch.
Took hardly any time at all to climb up, but a LONG time to work my way down.
Rapid change of shorts required.
The non-Girl Scout version in black was a gift from my parents and my first camera ever. I always hated it. Used 620 film.
