Around here the main roads are east-west but all villages and towns are north, so we drive north-south and the winds are mostly east-west or vice-versa and on these roads visibility can drop right fast with a good gust after or during a snowfall. On the last three there is what we call ''black ice''..a thin layer of ice on the blacktop and invisible. Always drive one gear lower than in the summer
