The Blue Max 2019. A WWI remote control event.
For the past 6 years I have been fortunate to photograph this RC event and provide coverage for RC related magazines. This event is for WWI type aircraft (1903-1919) only. This years coverage will be in the Model Aviation magazine. All in-flight shots done with the Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500mm.

Excellent work, David. Exceptional work in catching these RCs while they're flying.

Grand display. It seems like some are 1/4 scale. vz

Most are 1/3 scale. Some are 1/4 scale. Photo #8 and #17 are 1/2 scale. Believe it or not, 1/4 scale is small compared to what you mostly see today.
Awesome set. I love WWI and WWII warbirds, real or models. You captured these wonderfully.
An excellent set. I thought the Nazi symbol was WWII era, not WWI. I could be wrong.

Historically, the swastika predates Hitler's adoption of it as the symbol of the Nazi party. It is only since WWII that it has taken on an evil context due to what it came to represent during the war.
If memory serves correct, it was even widely used in floor tiling in early 20th century NYC (and I'm sure other) apartments as well as American Indian cultures. In aviation, it was the Finnish insignia prior to 1945.

Great quality shots and superb looking planes. In flight adds to it all.
DSC 1982 with a closeup of pilot looks real.
