While Canada is seriously cold during the winter, it is also very beautiful and unique. Here on Abraham Lake, the methane bubbles get trapped and the ice freezes around them below the surface. you can actually watch them rise to the surface and freeze. This was another very cold morning and the wind was blowing which is what makes the lake clear of snow.

I didn't understand this: "This was another very cold morning except the wind was blowing which is what makes the lake clear of ice."

Nice picture and the frozen methane. Who knew?

Methane freezes at -295.6 degrees Fahrenheit I don’t think it was that cold. Perhaps the frozen bubbles are water that surrounded the methane.

Maybe the wind caused the lake to be clear of snow??

(Second sentence in the initial post.)

If you are referring to "frozen methane" being "incorrect", that's what most people call methane gas that is caught in frozen water.
