Very nice, Regis... as usual, of course. Do your eagles eventually go elsewhere for a while when Spring gets closer? Here in Colorado, come April, they seem more elusive, I’m thinking. Though I’m just as likely to be wrong. 😏

Many Bald Eagles stay year-round in different states and we have some of those here in Idaho. Then another
migrating Bald Eagle group will fly here or where-ever to feast on spawning salmon. When the spawning salmon die in 6-8 weeks, the Eagles fly somewhere else to feast on spawning salmon in other states. So, it's not necessarily the weather, but the spawning salmon seasons that influence where and when the Bald Eagles will migrate to.
Thank you very much, 47greyfox.

Happy future birthday, Neil. I walk about 1.5 miles every time I photograph the Bald Eagles so I try to stay in shape and I do a lot of walking to shoot the Osprey and other birds nearby when they are in season. So, hopefully my memory will stay active for years to come with this walking exercise and always carrying 8 lbs. ot photo equipment.

Another beauty. I've got a few bald eagles around my house that I can get within 50' of if I if I'm lucky. How do you get the feathers to show such detail?

Hand held at 600mm. Distance of about 100-125 feet. 100 feet is as close I will get to a Bald eagle before they will fly away.
