Computer File size Question.

Hi, Is it normal for your computer when opening a large jpeg file @ 14.4 meg. to take a few seconds for the pic to " Clear up "? At first the pic looks grainy or out of focus but then after a few seconds clears up. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. My computer is a Lenovo desktop, I7 8th gen processor, 32 Gig of ram, 512 gig SSD drive and a 1 Terabyte drive. I also have 2 - 4 gig. usb3.0 backup drives on it. It doesn't really matter which drive I'm working off of does the same thing. I shooting with a Canon 5Dm4 with various lens on it. I think that covers everything, if I left anything out just ask.
As always, Thanks in Advance!
My laptop does that occasionally.
Do you have a virus scanner working in the background?
My laptop allays does that with my Raw files but not with Jpegs.

What program are you opening the file with?

They run hidden in the background, randomly using CPU time, often delaying other things.
If it doesn't happen all the time, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
My laptop does that consistently with Raw files. It seems the larger the file the longer it takes to "clear up." I don't recall that happening with prior laptops but the files were much smaller then. I have no idea what causes this or if it can be fixed. Anyone have any ideas?
It can take a while for your computer to render it. Your video card can, also be responsible. Particularly if it uses shared system RAM.
Yes completely normal, it takes a bit of time for the 'PREVIEW' to load. i noticed that there is a 'button on the top in Photoshop to change the resolution of the preview, but just left alone, it doesn't bother me to wait. if you have a couple hundred RAW pictures and you try to load them it could take a few minutes as each preview takes a little time. I have found splitting up a batch of pictures into 50 at a time gets the time down ti where i can start working on the pictures quickly. Otherwise get a cup of coffee, or a bathroom break, It will all load in in due time.
The other big help is to transfer you pictures from your memory card to an SSD first. your pictures will load quicker,
No, happens with Mac computers as well
What operating system are you using and 32bit or 64bit? and what video card? Photo 'clearing' up is likely a feature of your software.
