I will be so glad when the last of 'Nam vets go to their reward...they are very tiresome in their attitudes. I know it is because they are damaged but still if they stay on their meds things would be a lot better for everyone.
quote=LARRYR. quote=RixPix quote=bvm Here's how... (show quote)

Don't know where you are coming from on this but the Nam vets did not start that war. It was started by and managed by a bunch of inept politicians. I think we lost 50,000 Americans. They all, living and dead need to be honored. If you cannot respect these people you need to move a little further South to say Cuba.
quote=RixPix quote=LARRYR. quote=RixPix quote=... (show quote)

I agree that that war was just as the current two wars...totally unnecessary. I am referring to the attitudes of those currently 58 and older...they seem to have a skewed vision of reality. Maybe its just that they are getting to that angry old man stage but it seems to me they all either need to be medicated or have their scripts adjusted.
quote=CAM1017 quote=RixPix quote=LARRYR. quote... (show quote)

How do you know your version of reality isn't the "skewed" version?

Currently my oldest grandson is in Afganistan having previously served a tour in Iraq. Our family worry and pray for him every day because of all the crazyness going on over there. Iraq and Afganistan are and were motivated for economic gain by big business/Republican groups looking for financial gain. Nothing more. No different then Vietnam. This is the real reality of someone over 58.

Did you notice how many people said, "there's not a racist bone in Joe Biden's body." It's amazing how many Democrats came up with the same line at the same time!! If I didn't know better I'd think it was scripted. But if it was scripted I couldn't really believe it now, could I?

WTF does this have to do with Biden? He's the Democrats problem. The Republicans' problem is that they can't keep all their clowns in the car. Sometimes they get out and then the media circus becomes a three-ring extravaganza.
quote=SteveR quote=gmcase And they defend Biden.... (show quote)

Sorry....you set this up...The problem with the Democrats' clown is that he's the Vice President.

Great tactic. You have no answer to the topic, so you change the subject. This thread was not about Joe Biden. It was about the reprehensible attitude of the Republican Party as represented by the comments of a complete moron. But who cares about that when you can change the subject and get in a zinger at the vice president?
quote=SteveR quote=RixPix quote=SteveR quote=g... (show quote)

Republican Party=1 Person. Who the Republican Party happens to be distancing itself from. Your leap of logic is amazing.
quote=tschmath quote=SteveR quote=RixPix quote... (show quote)

That 1 person is is stating the official republican position. The party platform, about to be finalized will support making all abortion, including rape and incest, illegal. Sams platform as 2008 and 2004. The Rebublican establishment is distancing itself from that statement because thry know how unpopular it is. That's standing up for one's principles.
quote=SteveR quote=tschmath quote=SteveR quote... (show quote)

That's not what his most outrageous statement was. You're skipping that.
quote=micro quote=SteveR quote=tschmath quote=... (show quote)

True, but shining light on the Republican position on choice is going to help them lose the election.

Viet Nam was a Democratic op

It was a republican who got us out

Kennedy did the " advisors" Johnson escalated with the " Gulf of Tonkien"
( that's when my friends and neighbors choose me" )

and as much as you hate him, Nixon brought us home

Afghanistan? How soon we forget. Iraq...basically, poorly thought out war that Bush thought we could win overnight. Didn't turn out that way. Afghanistan yes, Iraq no. Had we concentrated all our efforts on Afghanistan we would have been out of there a long time ago.

Your correct about Kennedy and Johnson. But, to give Nixon credit for getting us out. The American public forced him to get out.

Having a draft makes a world of difference in the public's appetite for war.

Finally doing what Barry said he'd do bombed Hanoi, and mined Haiphong harbor. Ho finally went to the " peace table".

Bullshit. The Republican Party, and Paul Ryan in particular, embrace what this guy represents. Ryan has cosponsored bills with him, and the party has just adopted his views on sbortion in their party platform. They may not like the way he says things, but they absolutelybendorsevhis policy positions across the board. Ryan=Akin=Republicans. There is no way to lie their way out of this one.

His statement that "real rape doesn't cause pregnancy" would indicate that those who did get pregnant weren't really raped. This is totally over the top. I think you're missing the lead.

Iraq was sonny boy trying to fix daddy's problem...All those casualties for the ego of the Bush family. This demonstrates the utter disregard for the lives of our children.

Hussein was not abiding by the rules of the cease fire of Desert Storm, either. If you know anything about him, too, he was a bad, bad, man. Whether or not it was ill-advised, we could have won that war early, too.

just went through pages and pages of google and cannot find any citations that say he used tax payer money to have pizza flown in from chicago. perhaps you can give a citation

If you would actually read the post you would find where he flew pizza in. As I put in my later post it was my mistake, it was from St. Louis, MO, not Chicago. He flew in the pizza chef along with 20 pounds of dough, plus toppings, which I am sure cost more than just flying in the pizza would have been. And just whom do you think paid for this extravagant pizza party?

Of course, I am sure that your internet browser, judging by the ridiculous posts that you, RixPix and micro post, has a block on it that keeps you from seeing anything negative regarding Barry Hussein Obummer and anything Democratic or liberal.
