It might take a little longer to scan for interest, but considering that many post subject lines don't really capture the intended subject, this might help. I suggest that the title-only option be maintained.

I like both views for different reasons. When I have the time I'd like the new view to peruse through the topics. If I don't have a lot of time then I'd like to view by the headlines like we do now. So if possible I would like to choose which view depending on my time available.

One thing, especially if you go with the new format, I would like to see the original poster's name on each submission.
You can see it in either of the formats. There is a setting in My Profile " Show topic authors in the digest".

Thanks. I've seen the names randomly pop up later in the day but didn't realize it was an option. Gettin' old, I guess.

I very much like the format.
Are the four examples you have links to in any way different? They all looked the same to me.
They have different dates.
I don't get it. If I wanted to see all the posts in a particular section how do I do that? Do I have to go to the Home section and click on each individual section I subscribe to? As long as the old format is still available then implementing the expanded digest would be fine with me. I guess I'm one of those headline scanners.

I am basically a "reader" and seldom participate in the everyday dialog available here. I find the current format easy to use and vote to keep it. The new format slows me down, perhaps because I'm not accustomed to it.
This is a terrific site for my purposes, and I thank you for that. I have learned a lot.
Thanks, Vince
I do not care for it. I do not consider it as an improvement but going backwards
I like it. I would like it still grouped into the major sections as done now.
Annoys me when something sounds interesting but turns out to be entirely different, or worse, just someone's link to something else. Those things warrant an immediate dismissal of the topic for me. I've learned several names that consistently do this and am beginning to avoid their posts entirely, regardless of how interesting they might title it. It's like they just want to build up their post count.
On the other hand, there are posts by others that I will always look at regardless of the title - they're that good.

Looks good, would clearly make following a thread simpler and provide access to followup comments more convenient. Well done!

I am somewhat camera literate but quite stupid when it comes to computer literacy. I find myself unable to decipher what your examples mean, or what they are intended to address. So, I will go with the flow and see what happens. I hope to remain with your marvelous site.
PS: My personal opinion: If it's not broken, don't fix it.
Please test it out send me any feedback you might have.
Thanks.[/quote]
I like it. Many titles don't tell what the topic is. This let's the reader skim the topics and go deeper if desired.
I like the last one the best. It would be helpful to continue the divisions and have at least one or two sentences with the image, and image could be a thumbnail, or not. Either work for me better than the current format.
