If it aint broken...

It seems to me that this will a lot of extra work and eventually the current format will disappear which would be regrettable

I think they look good and would be useful. However, I would align the subjects to the left

Are you browsing on a desktop with a large screen by any chance?

This proposed new format is ok, maybe has a little too much info on it. Scrolling is slowed by the images loading, and you have to see it "all" as you scroll.
How about adding more of the post using the original method?

Fine idea, fine addition, giving an overview and allowing a reader to decide which posts are worthwhile to him.

I agree with sirlensalot. I take a quick peek at items with opaque subject lines and move on if uninterested. I think that will still be a lot quicker than the new option.

Please go to My Profile, scroll down to Custom View Settings and enable "Limit page width to 900 pixels".

Then, please let me know if that helps.

I'm thinking about making that the default width.

Right now, on a wide screen, centered elements end up being generally too far to the right. So I'm not sure if it's better to make headlines aligned to the left or simply reduce the width of the page while keeping them aligned to the center.

No need to change.

My first impression is negative because it appears to be in a random order and when finished and returned I was no longer in that section.

For me it’s more efficient to open a section and pick the posts that interest me. If a topic title is misleading I can close in seconds an move while on still in the same section.

I see no need and probably won’t use the new format.

Like most, I really like it! My personal downside is that it will probably require me to budget significantly more time to my daily browse! It would be nice to select the browsing mode for each topic. Nice!

I like it. I have seen it for a while, as it is what shows up when you just go to the home page. As expected, some won't like it, but if you could implement a choice in the user settings to choose which one you want to see, that would be good.

I'm working on implementing a new format for the digest.

The old one will remain, but in addition to that we'll have the expanded format. It's basically a list of intro posts for each topic, one after another.

The new format is for people who prefer to scroll rather than scan headlines.

Here are some examples:

Please test it out send me any feedback you might have.
Thanks.

I like the old list better. Takes to long to scan in the new way....I do like seeing the pics in the new way... Maybe a lot less of the messages to shorten the scan?

I like the format. It makes it easier to decide whether to read on or skip if it isn't something in which you're interested.

I can go either way but probably prefer the old way or at least the new format put into categories as is currently done. I don't look at all sections but the new way forces me to see everything and wade through it.

One thing, especially if you go with the new format, I would like to see the original poster's name on each submission.
