Plus, in another post on this very thread you implied that the shutdown would improve peoples lives. So, in your "logical" construct, then Democrats shold get the credit, right?

Yes he was and is proud.
You libs just now here though said it was the republican house.

Then we can get competent private screeners rather than worthless tsa that screen old ladies and babies while ignoring the muslim with bombs strapped to his body as that might be considered profiling.

So private screeners are willing to wok without pay? You are arguing yourself in circles.

I said nothing of the sort. Go ask you nearly incoherent question to someone else.

They will not be government employees. Airlines/terminals/passengers will pay them as before.
They were better than TSA ever has been.

Here is the quote, as you seem to not be able to read.

"JCboy3"
Quote: "Trump can't keep the government closed. But House Republicans can continue to do so. The markets will tank, the economy will crumble, and 2020 will destroy the Republican party for good.

I think that sounds pretty good."

And you still expect them to work without pay? You should know by now that shape-shifting dos not work with me.

You said that our lives will be better with a government shutdown. I offered one concrete example where that is clearly not the case and you respond by saying tsa will be replaced by private screeners and you run away from the logical question of who will pay the private screeners if the government says shut down.

You either cannot follow a conversation or you have the attention span of a young puppy.

Then ask JCboy3. I did not say it (as I pointed out before). You are the one with apparent reading deficiencies.

As I said in a later post, Congress can override a Presidents veto by 2/3 vote on both houses. So Trump can't keep it closed unless Congress allows it. But it only takes a 1/3 minority to keep from overriding a veto, so even if Democrats "control" the House, neither party controls enough to override a veto. So it is up to some number of House Republicans to vote to ensure an end to the shutdown (plus assuming that the Senate confirms its previous vote).

Trump spawned the shutdown, Trump can work to keep the shutdown. Republicans control whether the shutdown ends. Seems clear to me.

Any questions?

If the republican party dies then we'll be in big trouble as the democrats have continuously proven they are a corrupt party too.

There is no good in that. It would be better if both parties were destroyed and we got new ones minus the self-serving politicians that are in both today.

I don't want to live in a one party state, even if it is my party.

If they keep the shutdown going, if they keep obstructing immigration reform, if they keep kowtowing the the right wing fringe, then they will deserve to be relegated to the fringe.

Unfortunately, it is practically impossible to start a new party, given the legal impediments. But maybe that is what is needed; massive election reform.

The republicans need to shake themselves out of the stupor they're in but there aren't many signs of them doing that.

I think we do need massive election reform but the career politicians have a good thing going and have little incentive to go forward with it.
