The first picture, however, is of a Dianthus I planted last Spring, and has survived frost and below freezing temperatures. The ground is hard like a brick, but this little flower just keeps going!

it's amazing what you can find to shoot when you are desparate! the last 2 shots are very pretty...they look real to me.
my favorite is the first shot of your determined and persistent little dianthus! maybe it's trying to find the sun.
