Great capture and p/p. Anybody who's spent any amount of time in farm country will relate to this. In my case it was visiting my Grandparent's 1/2 section in Kansas. There's just a different feel to farm country. It's quiet, except when storms come through. The land and, in winter or the heat of summer, the the temperature is what encompass you, along with whatever animals might be out in the pens. I can distinctly hear my Grandmother clucking to her chickens as she fed them. It was almost a loving cry....but then the next day she was liable to cut one's neck off and cook if for dinner. Such is farm life.
This def. needs to be printed large and framed. BTW...those must be the tracks from Grandpa's '60 Intl. pickup!!

Thanks to all for the kind words. Catching the lightening bolt took innumerable shots.I was ready to bag it in and head for home when I got this one.

Thanks, Steve - great post, your description of your visit to your Grandparent's farm in Kansas was perfect -as a kid, I lived on a farm in Oklahoma and my memories are similar to yours, except my Mom named every one of her chickens and turkeys and even guineas, but she couldn't kill or eat them because she loved them and had given them all names! Sweet memories . . .
