After all, your wife has a routine and so does your cat! And they don’t like to change routine! Great pic!
Indoor animals and people all benefit from getting vitamin D via sunshine. Sometimes our bodies know what we need even if we consciously do not.

Cats seem to intuitively understand this concept - either that, or they just like to be warm. Also “checking the neighborhood “news” is important to a cat (mine at least).

My 5 cats like to be warm. They are all outside farm cats that look forward to me coming home from a trip to the store especially in the colder days of winter. I barely get parked before they line up on my hood!

Nothing a cat likes better than a warm heating pad.
IT is much less work to obey the true master of the house. Also less damaging to the house and you. Anyway, why is this an issue?
I have two of them. i know what your talking about. They make us very happy.
Let her stay in the window, as long as it is shut so that she can't escape outdoors.
The only thing they like better than a view with a sun's rays is a box, preferably, one that is a size too small.
HAHA.... it IS an issue when it is 38 degrees outside and she wants to sit in an open window. AND we are talking the bathroom window here.... so it is not exactly a clear window. She wants to look out and scare off any other cats that wander onto her territory.
