Every morning our older cat gets up on the counter in the bathroom where my wife prepares herself for the day ahead. She always gets to sit in the open window so she can survey the property. But now with winter approaching fast she is becoming very argumentative about having more time in the open window. At this time of the year she is lucky if she gets a minute or two. Getting her out of the window after that short period of time is now an all out brawl, which comprises digging into the windowsill with claws and a lot of growling and whining.

Water in a spray bottle works great for getting cats to move. Always works with our 3 cats.

Nice photograph. Cats are like that. One just has to deal with it and change their behavior pattern to suit the cat. After all, the cat is gracious about letting you live in the house.

Solution: Raise the blinds enough for Kitty to sit, crouched on the windowsill and enjoy the sunshine. Your paintwork will thank you for this.
