Hello all, This is probably in the wrong forum, however I didn't want to be frowned on for posting photos in the Main Discussion section. We have just returned from a trip to Africa, shooting 10,000 pics, currently down to 2,100, still editing. I also have several thousand quality pics from Costa Rica, the Galapagos, Scotland, Ecuador and more. Certainly more than 15,000 stunning ( to my eye) pics. How to display 15,000+ pics?
I have been thinking of installing some type of large monitor on the wall, and have the pictures roll by. That's my question: A computer monitor seems to have the highest definition, however do not seem to come in large sizes. Has anyone taken this route to display their accumulation of photos? Hoping for some expert input on this subject.
A smart tv should do the trick, and you are able to get one in a variety of sizes. You should be able to connect it to a lap top or tablet or desk top and have the computer scroll the photos on the tv screen. Nice photos, by the way.
I have a smart TV, and have mirrored my images from my IPad via Apple TV to it. The image quality is no where as good as my IMac 27" monitor.
Thanks
CM

Is your TV a 4k with an OLED screen?

The TV monitor will do the trick, but have you considered that 15,000 photos, allowing a viewer to notice and take it in, even on a quick 5 second refresh rate will take 21 hours from start to end?

This means the same picture will not be available for viewing at the same time in each 24 hour period - good planning.
I use a smart TV and an external hard drive. All I have to do is plug the hard drive into the USB port on the TV. I am using a compact Toshiba drive that is easy to hide behind the TV.
No, Mine is a 4K Samsung. That is the type of info I'm looking for. I don't plan on anyone seeing all of my photos, just a random walk through our travels.
Thanks,
CM

Be prepared with the pause button so the tales can flow. It may take a year to go through the "stack", presuming that you do not add more shots along.
If you haven’t already, consider using a program like Pro Show to produce your shows. You can find out all about it at their website, photodex.com. They even have a free trial download. It’s a great program.
I think that will work very well. A Good 4k or OLED will present the photos beautifully with vivid colors. Your pictures are beautiful. Any landscapes?

Most smart TV's have a USB port which you can plug in a USB drive with a lot of photos. I think you can probably get it to scroll through them. Sometimes the TV will have problems with vertical shots, though.
