Two Sunset shots - 6 minutes apart

I prefer the first one because of the detail visible in the foreground. I wonder how the scene would have looked using HDR processing.

My first instinct was toward #2, but the more I looked at them, I like #1. #2 has no foreground, I like #1 for the shimmer in the foreground and the sky is less somber with more color. Always love the pink/blue sunset mix, and also getting the intense yellow/oranges really gives a full spectrum of color.

I’ve shot more sunsets than my computer can keep track of. I like the second shot for the balance and color variety.

Post processing probably accounts for 150% of your color result.

I like the first due to the color in the sky, the somewhat lit foreground and the sunlight shining on the grass.

Thanks, NoSocks; living near the ocean Sunset shots are inevitable & I don't get tired of them.
