Which one do you prefer and why; comments welcome
Nikon D-750
First shot:
Taken at 6:24 PM
AF-S Nikkor 70-300 mm 1:4.5-5.6G
1/500 sec. f/5.6 70mm
ISO 100
Second shot:
Taken at 6:30 PM
AF-S Nikkor 70-300 mm 1:4.5-5.6G
1/320 sec. f/4.5 70mm
ISO 100
I'm leaning toward the second one due to the 'odd' colors in the first.

I like them both, but I think I prefer the second. Reducing the exposure I the first should be interesting also.
Lots of color. Both beautiful.
I like the one taken at 6:24. Having the detail visible in the foreground adds interest and balance to what is going on in the sky.

Is the top shot the second shot? The sun seems to be higher off the horizon.

Thanks for your comments Bob, I tried to keep almost the same settings for both shots in this "experiment" and had a difficult time selecting between the two, hence my request for opinions from this great group.

I like the first because of the foreground color, I think it fills out the shot more!!
The bottom image, colors and structure in the top image I find distracting. Both are nice.

Thank you RCjets, I appreciated your comment.
For both shots, I used the following camera sets:
AF-A, Auto-AF Area select.
LARGE BASIC optimize quality JPG.
VIVID Picture Control, 8 sharpening, +3 Saturation.

Thank you for viewing and your comments, Stan. I tend to prefer the same shot for the same reasons you mentioned.

Thanks, morkie1891. The top shot is the first one, hence the Sun is higher.
Thanks. Sorry that my eye skipped over the ‘pm’. I prefer the first shot because of the overall balance of color.

Thanks, morkie1891. One of the advantages I see on the D-750 are the U1 and U2 presets capabilities this camera has.
I use the U1 preset for places and things:
AF-A, Auto-AF Area select.
LARGE BASIC optimize quality JPG.
VIVID Picture Control, 8 sharpening, +3 Saturation.
(The AF-A and AUTO Area Select, which usually just locks as soon as focused, but will track if something just happens to be moving).
The U2 preset for people:
AF-C, Auto-AF Area select.
SMALL BASIC optimize quality JPG
Portrait Picture Control, 8 sharpening, +1 Saturation.
(The AF-C and AUTO Area Select, finds peoples eye or eyes, focuses and tracks them all around as they move)
