The Big Sky Country has no Sales Tax. I knew a guy who was from Billings. He never mentioned that. Since Montana is not a densely populated State, one would think that Sales Tax would be necessary?

I think the conservative nature of the state lends to a “spend less-tax less” philosophy. Seems to be logical doesn’t it. 😎

My Wife and I moved from Louisiana two years ago, and have never looked back. She and I moved to New Hampshire, which is sales tax free, along with personal income tax. So, if you're looking for a tax haven NH is one of those few states without a sales, or income tax. The property tax is high, in our town of Bow, but there are services that you have to consider. NH does have great roads, prompt plowing, and clearing. Compared to La. a much better quality of life. As for politics, NH has 400 members in the House of Representatives (expensive to buy off that number) and about 26 Senators.

NH has more elected politicians in their House and Senate than the United States has in the House and Senate.

New Hampshire, has 400 people in the House, and about 26 in the Senate. The member of the House, only make $100/year. I don't know about the Senators. So our House members cannot be bought off, there is just to many. With no income tax, and no sales tax, New Hampshire, is a true tax haven. We do pay a small tax on dividends and interest. Our big tax is of course property tax, but it is not as crippeling as many states tax packages.
