Just returned from a trip to Italy and Greece. Here are a few shots from Ancient Rome.
I'm glad those old structures haven't been torn down to make a parking lot or a mall. I'm sure there is big demand for those properties.
Very nice images of the ancient city. Been there several times. Early Roman craftsmanship was remarkable, considering their use of very basic tools.

If they tore them down there would be no need for a mall or parking lot as no one would give a crap to go there anymore.
Like Disneyland tearing down iconic rides and symbols for more food courts and parking.
We took the subway from our hotel to the Coliseum. I never expected the subway exit to be directly across the street. I expected the Coliseum to be more isolated.
Several years ago there was a TV show that tried to replicate the construction of the Coliseum using tools, equipment, materials and construction methods known to exist at the time. Fascinating stuff...especially for someone like me who can’t understand how something like suspension bridges don’t all come crashing down😊
Nice photos--I enjoyed seeing them.

Don't go to see the Pyramids or Sphynx in Cairo. All of those shots with the desert stretching out forever in the background are misleading. Turn around and there is a KFC and McDonalds's right behind you on a busy street of pure chaos.

All Roads Lead To Rome..Nice shots.

They must bring in a lot of money that would be lost do to parking lots. Sometimes one has to look at the overall picture. I am with you. Love the series hope we do not sterilize the world.
A very nice series for sure. When we were there, we were unable to get to the “valley floor” so your images were greatly appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful photographs. I particularly like the fact that you worked to keep the horizon horizontal in all frames.
